Since July 2025, when the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces merged, the new apparatus quickly stabilized and operated effectively. With 7 specialized departments and 10 public service units, more than 500 officers and civil servants are working towards a common goal: building a dynamic, professional and integrated Culture, Sports and Tourism sector.

The merger has expanded the development space vertically from the Central Highlands to the South Central Coast. Dak Lak has become a connecting point between the plateau and the sea, between the vast mountains and forests and the potential coastal strip, a strategic development direction that helps exploit inter-regional strengths, promote cultural, sports and tourism cooperation on the plateau - coastal axis.
It is not only an organizational arrangement, but also a test of leadership capacity and innovation spirit. The Party Committee of the Department with 312 members is consolidated, united, and disciplined; the young cadres are given opportunities to demonstrate the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, and daring to take responsibility.

In 2025, Dak Lak will make its mark with a series of large-scale cultural, sports and tourism events such as: The 50th Anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory, the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, the Exhibition of socio-economic achievements celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and many special art exchange programs.
In particular, the dossier “Knowledge of growing and processing coffee in Dak Lak” has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and is being nominated by UNESCO to be recognized as a representative cultural heritage of humanity. This is a milestone affirming the stature and cultural depth of the coffee land, where heritage becomes a source of pride and a driving force for development.

The sports movement has spread strongly. High-performance sports achieved 373 medals in 78 tournaments, maintaining training in 18 sports with 473 athletes. That result shows the right direction in training young athletes and socializing sports.
The tourism sector recorded a remarkable growth. In the first 9 months of 2025, Dak Lak welcomed about 6.1 million visitors, including more than 80,000 international visitors, an increase of nearly 90% over the same period last year. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at more than 11,400 billion VND, an increase of over 80%. Stimulus programs such as "Dak Lak people travel to Dak Lak", "Vietnamese people travel to Dak Lak" spread widely, contributing to making Dak Lak a friendly, attractive destination with a strong Central Highlands identity.
Not stopping at organizing events, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak is pioneering in digital transformation and administrative reform. 100% of administrative procedures are processed online, all records are digitized. New technology application models such as the automatic explanation system at Buon Ma Thuot Prison Relic Site, digitizing artifacts at Dak Lak Museum have contributed to improving the visitor experience, while promoting the province's image in the digital space.
From digital transformation in management to digital communication on social networking platforms, the industry is gradually turning technology into a tool to preserve and spread cultural values.

At the working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated the efforts and creativity of the Department in recent times. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Dak Lak affirmed that the sector has inherited and effectively promoted the achievements of the two localities of Dak Lak and Phu Yen before the merger, continuing to affirm its position as the center of culture, sports and tourism of the Central Highlands - South Central Coast.
Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet suggested the industry focus on promoting investment, effectively exploiting potential and strengths; promoting digital transformation associated with administrative reform; paying attention to press and media management; and enhancing the promotion of Dak Lak's image on digital platforms.
The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Department of Staff to announce the province's new logo on January 1, 2026, develop a project to preserve and promote intangible cultural heritage, develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, and strive to build the best community tourism village in the world.
From the foundation of unity and achievements, Dak Lak is affirming its strong aspiration to rise. When people are the center, culture is the source and tourism is the driving force, the great plateau can completely become a new symbol of sustainable development of the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast where traditional identity blends with the breath of the times.
