At the meeting, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai emphasized that Vietnam's economic development has had a significant contribution from foreign organizations and enterprises in the fields of trade, investment and many other fields. At the same time, he acknowledged that in recent years, VBF has been very active, with useful initiatives and recommendations, contributing to improving Vietnam's investment and business environment.

VBF Co-Chairman, General Director of Boeing Vietnam Nguyen Vu Michael said that VBF was established in 1997 under the initiative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank. Throughout its operation, VBF has played an important role in bridging the Government and the business community, contributing to promoting the trade policy-making process as well as effectively attracting FDI capital.
VBF currently represents 13 domestic and foreign business associations. VBF's main activities include: organizing the annual VBF Forum with the participation of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and Ministers. In addition, meetings and discussions between the VBF Working Group and relevant ministries and branches are also held throughout the year.

VBF aims to create a policy dialogue channel to help remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses, improve the business environment, enhance national competitiveness, and promote innovation.
In addition, VBF hopes to contribute international experience and professional knowledge, helping to provide additional data and information for legislative bodies to research in the process of formulating legal policies.

Considering that the activities of VBF are very useful, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai said that the Economic and Financial Committee will report to the National Assembly leaders to build a cooperation mechanism with an appropriate form. In addition, the Economic and Financial Committee has many sub-committees in charge of each field, these sub-committees can exchange expertise with the VBF Working Groups on issues of mutual interest.
Appreciating VBF for having a team of experienced domestic and international experts, with members being multinational corporations and enterprises, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee believes that through thematic exchanges with VBF, it will also help the Subcommittees of the Economic and Financial Committee access international experiences to serve the process of reviewing draft laws in their respective fields.

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee also requested VBF to continue to help and cooperate with domestic and international agencies, organizations and enterprises, creating closer connections between FDI enterprises and domestic enterprises, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the coming time.
Agreeing with the opinions of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee, VBF Co-Chairman Nguyen Vu Michael hopes that in the coming time, the Working Groups of VBF and the Economic and Financial Committee will continue to have more effective and closer cooperation and professional exchange activities.
