Hai Phong businesses join hands to support people affected by floods

In recent days, due to the impact of storms No. 10 and No. 11, prolonged rain and floods have caused severe damage in many provinces and cities in the Northern and North Central regions. Many houses, schools, and offices had their roofs blown off; traffic infrastructure and cultural works were seriously damaged; tens of thousands of hectares of rice, crops, and aquaculture areas were flooded, greatly affecting people's lives and production.

Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the City Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City to promote the tradition of solidarity and the spirit of "mutual love and affection", on the afternoon of October 31, 2025, at the Office of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, a ceremony to receive support for compatriots affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11 took place.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City; Ms. Vu Thi Huong - Chairman of the City's Emulation and Reward Committee; and representatives of Dinh Vang Company Limited, Sao Vang Company Limited, Thieu Nien Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company, VNPT Hai Phong Company, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thien Huong Ward, and representatives of the Hai Phong Business Association of Thai Binh homeland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan said: “The development of floods this year is very unusual. Not long ago, storm No. 11 also had a terrible impact on the northern provinces, causing great damage in many localities. Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the City Fatherland Front Committee advised the City Party Committee to allocate more than 34 billion VND in relief funds to support 10 provinces, including 6 central provinces and 4 northern provinces. At the same time, the Front has received more than 20 billion VND from agencies, units, businesses and generous individuals to continue helping people in damaged areas.”

In particular, businesses, units and organizations attending the ceremony donated a total of 2 billion 560 million VND, demonstrating the spirit of sharing, social responsibility and deep affection for people in flood-affected areas.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong city, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan respectfully thanked the philanthropists, agencies, organizations, businesses and people of the city for their precious love and sharing with people in flood-affected areas, joining hands with the whole country to support localities suffering from the consequences of natural disasters.
