On the morning of October 31, National Highway 1 from the center of Da Nang to the old Quang Nam still had many flooded spots. At the section next to the Hoa Phuoc Traffic Police Station (formerly Hoa Phuoc Commune, now Hoa Xuan Ward, Da Nang), the muddy water stretched for hundreds of meters, making it difficult for people to travel. Continuing south, there were two more flooded spots.

Along the route, mud, trash and broken shop signs were found.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha - Secretary of the Party Committee of An Thang Ward (including the old wards of Dien An, Dien Thang Trung and Dien Thang Nam) - said that many low-lying areas are still flooded even though the water has receded.

The locality is mobilizing forces to help people overcome the consequences of the flood. "We also advise people to pay attention to safety when cleaning up because after flooding, accidents are very likely to happen," said Mr. Ha.

Not only An Thang, Dien Ban ward (old Quang Nam) is covered with thick mud everywhere.

As soon as the water receded, people worked all night to clean up the mud. Mrs. Xuan (resident of Dien Ban ward) was cleaning tables and chairs covered in mud, saying sadly: "The refrigerator, washing machine, electrical appliances... were all damaged by the water."

Not far away, a coffee shop owner pointed to the wall with traces of floodwater and said: "The water is 1.8 meters deep, how can you place furniture?"
