
Congratulating Indonesian Ambassador Denny Abdi on successfully completing his term in Vietnam and being appointed as Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the Ambassador's positive contributions in promoting the strong development of bilateral relations in recent years.
In particular, on the good foundation of 70 years, built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno, the Vietnam - Indonesia relationship has increasingly developed, the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit to Indonesia by General Secretary To Lam and his wife in March 2025.
In particular, the two sides signed the Agreement on the Delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zones of Vietnam and Indonesia and completed negotiations on the Implementation Agreement applicable to areas of overlapping jurisdiction, demonstrating respect for international law, contributing to the protection of each country's territorial sovereignty, and positively impacting peace and stability in the region.
The Prime Minister was pleased that the political relations between the two countries are extremely trustworthy and close; the two sides regularly maintain visits and contacts at high and all levels; bilateral cooperation mechanisms are effectively promoted, people-to-people exchanges are increasingly flourishing; economic relations are a bright spot in bilateral cooperation, with trade turnover reaching 16.7 billion USD in 2024; many Vietnamese enterprises such as Vinfast, TH, FPT are very interested in implementing cooperation in Indonesia...
The two sides also cooperate closely and coordinate their stances at regional and international forums, especially within the framework of ASEAN, to join other members and partners in actively contributing to maintaining intra-bloc solidarity and ASEAN's central role, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
Indonesian Ambassador Denny Abdi sincerely thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to meet him and for his positive assessment of the bilateral relationship, as well as the Ambassador's role in the bilateral relationship.

Expressing his admiration for the development process and the affection of the country and people of Vietnam, the Indonesian Ambassador thanked the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the ministries, branches, and localities of Vietnam for their coordination, support, and facilitation for the Ambassador to successfully complete his duties in Vietnam; pledging that no matter what position he holds in the future, he will always support Vietnam - his second homeland - and foster the Vietnam - Indonesia relationship.
Agreeing with the Prime Minister's opinion on the importance of solidarity, Ambassador Denny Abdi expressed his joy that despite the problems, ASEAN is always united, including the important roles of Vietnam and Indonesia. This was demonstrated at the recent 47th ASEAN Summit, with countries showing solidarity, goodwill, efforts, support for each other and resolving ASEAN's internal issues, as well as promoting ASEAN's role and position in the international arena.
Pleased that the two countries upgraded their relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signed an Agreement on the Delimitation of Exclusive Economic Zones and completed negotiations on the Implementation Agreement applicable to areas of overlapping jurisdiction, Indonesian Ambassador Denny Abdi said that Indonesia supports and is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to remove the IUU yellow card, and believes that other ASEAN countries will also support this.
The Ambassador believes that the people of the two countries, especially the young generation of the two countries, will be proud and continue to promote the Vietnam - Indonesia relationship as well as in ASEAN to develop better and better, contributing to peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the region and the world; believes that both Vietnam and Indonesia will become high-income countries by 2045.
Agreeing with Ambassador Denny Abdi's opinion, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to promote delegation exchanges and contacts at high and all levels; effectively implement high-level agreements; promptly develop an Action Program to implement the Vietnam - Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; promptly ratify the Agreement on the Delimitation of Exclusive Economic Zones and sign an Implementation Agreement applicable to areas of overlapping jurisdiction for practical implementation, bringing practical benefits to both countries.
The Prime Minister also asked Indonesia to facilitate Vietnamese agricultural products to access the Indonesian market; cooperate in developing the Halal industry to soon bring bilateral trade to 18 billion USD; and affirmed that Vietnam is ready to negotiate an agreement to strengthen cooperation in food security, including rice trade.
In particular, the Prime Minister asked both sides to promote the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Fisheries Cooperation; and hoped that Indonesia would acknowledge Vietnam's efforts in preventing and combating IUU fishing. The two sides should continue to strengthen cooperation, consolidate solidarity and the central role of ASEAN, especially in issues such as the East Sea, Myanmar, etc. The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always welcomes the Ambassador back to Vietnam as if welcoming a relative home.

* Receiving Singaporean Ambassador Jaya Ratnam to bid farewell, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and highly appreciated the Ambassador for successfully fulfilling his duties in Vietnam over the past four years, performing well as a bridge, actively and effectively contributing to promoting the two countries' relations to become increasingly deeper, more substantive and effective in all channels and fields in the context of many difficulties and challenges.
During the Ambassador's term, Singapore has actively cooperated and supported Vietnam in preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic; the two sides have upgraded their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a milestone in the history of bilateral relations, and established a Green Economy - Digital Economy Partnership.
The two Prime Ministers regularly meet and exchange views, and on the occasion of the recent 47th ASEAN Summit, the two Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Singapore held their second annual meeting and witnessed the signing of the Action Program to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2025-2030 period.
The Prime Minister and the Ambassador assessed that economics, trade and investment have always been bright spots in bilateral relations. Seven new Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs) were established during the Ambassador's term, forming a network of 20 VSIPs in 13 provinces and cities, operating effectively, symbolizing successful bilateral cooperation. Most recently, on October 30, Singapore and Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding on rice trade cooperation.
Informing that Vietnam has set an economic growth target of over 8% in 2025 and double digits in the coming years, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Singapore in the spirit of "what said is done".
In particular, the Prime Minister proposed continuing to develop new generation VSIP projects with the "4 in 1" model (industrial park, science - technology park, innovation park, trade - service park and urban area).
The Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides continue to promote ASEAN power grid cooperation, export offshore wind power from Vietnam to Singapore; strengthen cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation; and cooperation in culture, education, training of high-quality officials and human resources.
The Prime Minister suggested that the two countries continue to promote close and effective cooperation at regional and international forums and organizations; continue to consolidate and strengthen solidarity, and promote the central role of ASEAN, because only through solidarity can there be strength, cooperation can bring benefits, and dialogue can strengthen trust.
The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that the Ambassador would be successful in his new assignment and hoped that the Ambassador would continue to contribute more to the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, adding that Vietnam is ready to welcome the Ambassador back to visit Vietnam when the opportunity arises.

For his part, sharing his good feelings and deep impressions of Vietnam, considering Vietnam as his second home, the Ambassador affirmed that over the past 80 years, Vietnam has overcome all difficulties in the past and always looks towards a better future.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the effective direction and management of the Government and the Prime Minister, helping the Vietnamese economy to grow more and more, overcome all shocks and crises in recent years, and enter the group of 32 major economies in the world and become a strong economy in ASEAN.
The Ambassador also highly appreciated Vietnam's important and positive contributions to the ASEAN community; affirmed that the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention showed that the international community is placing its trust in Vietnam; at the same time, said that the Singaporean Government sympathizes with Vietnam about the heavy losses caused by natural disasters and floods and believes that the damaged areas will soon recover.
Affirming that there is still a lot of room for bilateral cooperation, the Ambassador agreed with the Prime Minister's opinions on bilateral relations with more initiatives, especially promoting cooperation in developing new generation VSIPs with the goal of 30 VSIP zones in Vietnam in the near future, as well as other fields such as trade, semiconductor chips, science and technology, staff training, promoting people-to-people exchange, etc. Along with that, the two sides can strengthen cooperation to support third countries.
