Recently, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center has released national reserves and organized the transportation of necessities and life-saving equipment to the flood-hit area in Dai Loc commune, Da Nang city. At the same time, rescue teams have been organized to move deep into areas with high flood levels to coordinate and support local forces in rescuing and evacuating isolated people.

Maritime search and rescue forces maintain personnel on duty day and night, standing side by side with people in flooded areas, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

On this occasion, Da Nang city received a quantity of life-saving equipment including 200 round buoys and 2 life rafts from the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II to transport to the "flood center" area in Dai Loc commune.

At the flood scene in Dai Loc commune, rescue teams participated in classifying and urgently transporting necessities and life-saving equipment to heavily affected locations, localities and medical facilities, ensuring that people and patients do not lack food or drinking water during difficult times.

Previously, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center had released national reserve goods to provide 100 life jackets and 6 specialized life rafts for rescue forces to communes and wards in Hue city, and 400 personal life buoys to flooded houses.

The Vietnam Maritime Administration also prepares specialized vehicles such as search and rescue ships and canoes on standby in river and coastal areas to respond to all types of accidents and incidents that may occur.

The Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration affirmed that it will continue to accompany functional forces and local authorities in supporting and relief activities for people, while maintaining permanent forces and means ready to respond promptly and effectively when natural disasters and incidents occur.

According to the Official Dispatch on continuing to synchronously and effectively deploy response measures, promptly overcome the consequences of floods, stabilize people's lives, and restore production and business in the Central region of the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Maritime Administration and Waterways is focusing on directing its affiliated units to coordinate with relevant local units in guiding anchoring and safe shelters for vehicles and taking measures to ensure the safety of people and vehicles when an emergency occurs; requiring vehicles anchored near river bridges to promptly move to a safe location, absolutely not allowing vehicles to crash into river crossing structures.

The Vietnam Maritime Administration also urged inland waterway management and maintenance units to promptly retrieve buoys and signals before floods arrive or upon receiving flood discharge notices from the local Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue; have plans to ensure safety or retrieve and preserve buoys, signals and accessories; promptly re-deploy buoy and signal systems immediately after floods.
