Conference on strengthening the implementation of digital infrastructure development in the province

Comrade Tran Duy Binh - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department chaired the conference; attending the conference were telecommunications enterprises in the province and leaders of the Department, leaders and specialists of the Postal and Telecommunications Management Department, Information Technology Management and Digital Transformation Department, Information Technology and Communications Center under the Department of Science and Technology.

Regarding digital infrastructure, telecommunications enterprises have deployed infrastructure, providing fixed broadband services to 99.7% of villages and hamlets in the province; invested in building more than 200 new BTS stations, bringing the total number of stations on the entire network to 9,663 stations (including 2,441 2G BTS stations, 2,634 3G BTS stations and 4,425 4G BTS stations and 163 5G stations); deployed infrastructure, services with speeds up to 10Gbps, with 163 5G BTS stations (of which Thanh Hoa Telecommunications has 60 stations, Viettel: 103 stations) mainly concentrated in the city centers, districts, and (old) towns in the province. The mobile and fixed broadband speeds of Viettel, VNPT, and Mobifone networks are all at high levels. In addition, revenue from the postal and telecommunications sector is estimated at 2,152 billion, an increase of 0.09% over the same period in 2024; the total number of subscribers on the entire network is estimated at 3,005,000; the subscriber density on the entire network is 81.55 subscribers/100 people; equal to 103.73% over the same period in 2024; Internet subscribers are 2,730,000, reaching a density of 74.09 subscribers/100 people and equal to 103.06% over the same period in 2024.

The conference listened to the opinions and discussions of representatives of telecommunications enterprises on the telecommunications situation in recent times, difficulties and obstacles in the process of network construction, shared use of infrastructure and cooperation in production, business, and quality of mobile information services in some villages and hamlets in mountainous areas.

Concluding the conference, the chairman commended and acknowledged the production and business performance of telecommunications enterprises, which have basically complied well with regulations in State management and assigned political tasks. Deploying investment and expanding infrastructure and telecommunications networks with modern technology, large capacity, high speed, ready to meet the requirements of information technology application and digital transformation; renovating, arranging and adjusting peripheral cable networks according to the provisions of the law on construction; actively and proactively deploying and supporting people to standardize subscriber information to match population data; handling junk SIMs, junk calls, fake calls, protecting user rights and participating in the digital transformation process in the province.

At the same time, comrade Tran Duy Binh requested that in the coming time, enterprises continue to implement plans to ensure network safety and information security, continue to develop infrastructure development plans, report to the Group and the Corporation to deploy and ensure the completion of the goals of Plan No. 101/KH-UBND dated May 25, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP dated April 1, 2025 of the Government and Action Plan No. 266-KH/TU dated April 26, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. Regarding the removal of signal depressions in 13 hamlets and villages with weak and recessed signals in the province, focus on consulting and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee to recommend the Ministry of Science and Technology to direct telecommunications corporations so that provincial telecommunications enterprises have a basis to implement and ensure progress./.
