Regarding the establishment of the Regional Innovation Center, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, Ngo Anh Tin, said that after the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee agreed on the policy of using the old Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee headquarters as a Regional Innovation Center, the unit surveyed the old Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee headquarters, this facility is suitable for implementing agricultural start-up projects and projects of universities in the area. When this center is in operation, it will help this inner-city area become more bustling.

According to Mr. Tin, the city also plans to expand National Highway 61C (the route connecting the center of Can Tho City to the old Vi Thanh City), to make traveling from the city center to the Regional Innovation Center faster and more convenient.

Regarding the results of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development activities of Can Tho City from the beginning of the year to now (end of October 2025), the City Steering Committee on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development said that in 2025, 167 tasks were carried out, of which 84 tasks have been completed so far, and 83 tasks are in progress.
