Ha Tinh: Evacuating people in flooded areas to safety

On October 31, prolonged heavy rains caused many areas in Vung Ang ward (Ha Tinh province) to be deeply flooded, affecting the lives and travel of people. Authorities and local authorities have organized the evacuation of households to safety.

Faced with complicated flood developments, on October 31, the Military Command of Ha Tinh province mobilized 150 officers and soldiers along with more than 200 local militia and self-defense forces, coordinating with functional forces to urgently support the evacuation of people in dangerous flooded areas in Vung Ang ward.

Authorities have evacuated residents in three villages, Truong Yen, Truong Phu, and Canh Truong, to safe locations. These three residential groups have about 1,000 households with more than 2,000 people. This is a low-lying area that is often flooded during prolonged heavy rains.

Evacuation work was carried out urgently, ensuring absolute safety for people, especially the elderly, children and women.

Faced with the prolonged heavy rains and high risk of flooding and landslides, Vung Ang ward has mobilized police, militia, youth union members, residential groups and vehicles to urgently deploy plans to evacuate households in low-lying areas, along streams and rivers to safe locations. At the same time, support people to transport assets, food and essential items.
