On October 30th and 31st, at the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (SIHUB), the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone organized the semi-final round of the "Innovative Startup Competition in High-Tech Agriculture in 2025" with the theme "Digital Transformation in Sustainable Agricultural Development".

Speaking at the semi-final round, Nguyen Duy Son, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone, said that after nearly four months of launching the competition nationwide, the Organizing Committee had received 220 projects from organizations and individuals registering to participate. Category A, for students from colleges and universities across the country, had 85 projects. Category B, for individuals, startup groups, startup businesses, and cooperatives, had 135 projects.
Following the preliminary round, 112 projects officially advanced to the semi-final round, which took place over four days (October 30th and 31st: in-person competition in Ho Chi Minh City; November 1st and 2nd: online competition for projects from the Northern Midlands and Mountains, Red River Delta, North Central and Central Coastal regions, Central Highlands, and Mekong Delta).
Here, teams will present their projects and ideas focusing on areas including: biotechnology, automation technology, digital transformation, IoT applications, artificial intelligence (AI), new materials technology, energy-saving solutions, and circular and environmentally friendly practices in agricultural production.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Son stated that from the 112 participating projects, the judging panel will evaluate them based on criteria such as the product's relevance to the market, competitive advantages, economic efficiency, and social impact. These are key factors in determining whether a startup project has the potential to become a market-leading enterprise in the future.
He emphasized that the competition is not only an opportunity for startup teams to receive training, mentorship, and refine their business models, but also a platform for connecting scientists , businesses, investors, and regulatory agencies. Outstanding ideas will be incubated at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone and introduced to participate in startup support programs and projects of the city and the central government.
