After many years of artistic activity abroad, viola artist Nguyet Thu – the first Vietnamese person to graduate as valedictorian from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Russia) – has returned to Vietnam and immediately embarked on community cultural and artistic projects.

On December 16th, she introduced her music project "Where Love Begins," aiming to transform music into a "healing remedy" to support autistic children and other vulnerable groups.

Accordingly, the project will organize live music performances in hospitals to improve the morale and mood of patients, their families, and healthcare staff.

Simultaneously, she and experts are researching "music therapy" to incorporate it into sound systems in healthcare facilities.

" Science has proven that music not only relaxes our moods but also has a soothing effect on certain physical injuries. With this project, we want to collaborate with doctors and nurses to provide better care for patients," the artist shared.

Initially, the artist will perform at Bach Mai Hospital and the Palliative Care Department of Hanoi Oncology Hospital.

For artist Nguyet Thu, what makes her proud is not the size of the stage, but the fact that her music can help balance emotions and soothe the spirits of doctors, medical staff, and patients in the unique environment of a hospital.

Recently, the artist established the Hoan Nguyen Living Art Space at Thong Nhat Park, with diverse activities in the fields of culture, art, and cuisine, starting with a "campaign" to donate 1 million bowls of pho to international tourists. With this event, artist Nguyet Thu wants to spread the value of Hanoi pho - a symbol of traditional cuisine, contributing to promoting Vietnamese culture to the world.

International viola artist Nguyet Thu was born in 1973 into a family with a musical tradition in Hanoi. Her father, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Van Thuong, laid the foundation for viola studies at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music).

In the late 1990s, she became the first Vietnamese student to major in viola at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia.

From 1991 to 1999, she served as principal viola player in the XXI International Chamber Orchestra in Russia. In 1994, Nguyet Thu graduated with honors from a music college and went on to enter the Tchaikovsky Conservatory with the highest score, becoming the first Vietnamese student to major in viola at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

After five years of studying under Professor Yuri Abramovich Bashmet, she graduated with honors, became an internationally renowned viola artist, and performed in many places around the world, winning numerous music awards.

From 2009 to 2011, Nguyet Thu taught at the Mandeville School of Music in Singapore. She also completed two Master's degrees in Arts Education in Russia and the Netherlands.
