In the world of alcoholic beverages, there are products that are not just drinks but also works of art, created from a combination of nature and human ingenuity. One of them is "sea-infused ginseng wine" - a special gift, deeply rooted in cultural identity and natural value, where the earth and sky blend with precious ingredients to create a unique and unforgettable flavor.
The origins of sea-soaked ginseng wine stem from the long-standing traditions of coastal fishermen. These ancient fishermen created a method of soaking the wine at the bottom of the sea, utilizing natural conditions to purify the wine and imbue it with the rich flavors of the ocean. This is not only a method of preserving the wine, but also an art form, a way for humans to connect with nature, so that each drop of wine contains the essence of the earth and sky.

Sharing about the origin of sea-infused ginseng wine, Mr. Nguyen Hai Bang, Director of Vung Vieng Co., Ltd., said: "We wanted to recreate the memories of fishermen of the past, who infused wine underwater, but with a more special product that is both rich in cultural identity and connected to natural values that few can find."
To create a perfect bottle of sea-infused ginseng wine, the selection of ingredients is extremely important. Ginseng, a plant particularly famous in the Ba Chẽ region of Quang Ninh province, is chosen as the main ingredient. With its ideal climate and soil, Ba Chẽ is renowned for producing the highest quality ginseng roots, boasting a rich flavor and abundant medicinal value.
Each ginseng root is carefully selected; only the highest quality roots are used for soaking. Fresh, high-quality ginseng roots from Ba Chẽ undergo an elaborate soaking process, including burying them underground and underwater to allow them to come into contact with the earth and the sea. The combination of the pungent spiciness of ginseng and the gentle saltiness of the sea creates a unique flavor.
The process of making sea-soaked ginseng wine is not simply a matter of soaking the wine in the sea. It's a meticulous and elaborate process, lasting from 9 to 12 months. The wine is soaked underground (underground) to absorb natural minerals from the soil, creating a deep and pure flavor base. Then, the wine is lowered to an ideal depth underwater (underwater), where the stable pressure and cool ocean temperature help the wine become smooth and refined.
"The stability of temperature and light at the bottom of the ocean helps balance each layer of flavor, giving the wine a unique taste experience that cannot be achieved through conventional maceration methods," Mr. Bang further shared.

Throughout the aging process, the wine not only absorbs the flavors of the sea but is also enveloped by the natural biological layers of the seabed, such as oysters and coral clinging to the bottle, creating impressive and unique shapes. These are not only a sign of connection with nature but also an element that enhances the aesthetic value of the product.
Sea-soaked ginseng wine is not just a beverage, but a journey of discovery. After being retrieved from the seabed, each bottle of wine is not only different in appearance, with a layer of oysters clinging to it, but also shows a distinct transformation in flavor.
According to Vu Van Luu, a wine expert: "The flavor of wine aged under the sea changes noticeably. Although we cannot accurately assess it using specialized tools, everyone can feel the novelty in each sip."
According to Mr. Luu, the process of soaking the wine in the sea not only helps the wine develop a unique flavor but also reduces the methanol concentration, improving quality and protecting consumer health. The bottles of sea-soaked ginseng wine have also been sent for testing and received positive results regarding quality.
Sea-infused ginseng wine is not just a simple agricultural product, but a precious gift from nature and cultural heritage. Each drop of wine is the result of a perfect combination of man and nature, of tradition and innovation.
The Quang Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association has just approved the results of the selection and awarded certificates of "Outstanding Agricultural Products of Quang Ninh Province in 2025" to 27 products. Notably, for the first time, the product "Ba Kich wine soaked in sea water" has been included in the list of outstanding agricultural products of Quang Ninh province.
