VHO - From December 14-16, at the Dam Rong 4 Commune Cultural House, the Department of Ethnic Cultures of Vietnam, in coordination with the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Dam Rong 4 Commune, organized a training course on methods and skills for preserving traditional M'Nong ethnic festivals in conjunction with tourism development.

The training course is a practical activity aimed at effectively implementing Project 6 in Dam Rong 4 commune.

The training course is a practical activity aimed at contributing to improving the quality of state management, preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity, building a new cultural life, and promoting community tourism associated with sustainable socio -economic development in localities of Lam Dong province.

The training course was attended by 5 artisans knowledgeable in traditional culture and 75 M'Nong ethnic students living in Dam Rong 4 commune, Lam Dong province.

This is also an opportunity for the M'Nong ethnic people in Dam Rong 4 commune to exchange practical experiences, share good models, and effective methods in preserving cultural identity and developing culture in conjunction with tourism and community life.

The artisans guide participants in practical skills and demonstrate folk culture during the M'Nong ethnic group's water-worshiping ceremony.

During the training course, participants listened to experts discuss the preservation and promotion of the traditional culture of the M'Nong ethnic group in conjunction with tourism development; an assessment of the organization of traditional festivals of ethnic minorities in Lam Dong province in general, and Dam Rong 4 commune in particular; and solutions for preservation, exploitation, and development of products to serve community tourism.

Trainees also received guidance from artisans on practical skills in performing rituals, ceremonies, games, and folk performing arts in the M'Nong ethnic group's Water Worship Ceremony, which is expected to be recreated and performed at Da Dor stream, Lieng Trang 1 village, Dam Rong 4 Ethnic Groups Cultural Conservation Area.

The M'Nong ethnic group's water-blessing ceremony is an important ritual, closely associated with the M'Nong community as the source of life, signifying a prayer for favorable weather, peace in the village, and bountiful harvests. This is not only an opportunity for the M'Nong people to reflect on their cultural roots but also to showcase the unique cultural heritage of the M'Nong people to tourists.

The training course was attended by 5 artisans knowledgeable in traditional culture and 75 M'Nong ethnic students living in Dam Rong 4 commune, Lam Dong province.

On this occasion, the Department of Ethnic Cultures of Vietnam will donate and support Dam Rong 4 commune and the M'Nong ethnic community with traditional props and costumes to serve the maintenance and development of cultural and artistic activities, contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values ​​of the ethnic group associated with sustainable tourism development.

Organizing the reenactment and performance of the M'Nong ethnic group's water-worshiping ceremony will contribute to the effective implementation of Project 6 under the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021-2025, and at the same time concretize the Party's guidelines and the State's policies on preserving and promoting traditional culture associated with community tourism development.
