The Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee will preside over the coordination with provinces and cities to develop plans and guidelines for the content and roadmap of organizing the new term's Congress after the merger, ensuring compliance with regulations; consolidate personnel, organizational structure, and operational regulations; strengthen the organizational system from the central to local levels in a streamlined and efficient manner; develop and submit for approval a draft amendment and supplement to the Charter of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee to ensure it is consistent with the organizational model after the merger and the requirements of the tasks in the new period; issue a set of criteria for establishing Catholic Solidarity Committees at the commune, ward, and town levels to unify activities at the grassroots level; and develop a model working regulation for localities to apply.
Simultaneously, we will promote patriotic emulation movements among Catholic communities, fostering major movements such as: "Living a good life, upholding moral values," "Peaceful parishes - Exemplary Catholic families," and "Catholic communities participating in environmental protection and climate change adaptation"; replicate advanced models in social welfare, poverty reduction, environmental protection, and community digital transformation; coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) to mobilize religious leaders, clergy, and followers to participate in social, charitable, educational , and health programs; promote information and propaganda about advanced models and exemplary individuals among Catholic communities; strengthen cooperative relationships with the VFF and relevant agencies; promote policy dialogue, listen to the opinions of Catholic communities, and promptly advise on resolving emerging issues related to religion...
2025 is the year of implementing the reorganization of the local political system into two levels, leading to changes in the organizational structure and operation of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee at all levels, which is gradually being perfected. Regarding the reorganization at the central level, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, through consultation at the 8th Congress, term 2023-2028, elected 148 members to the National Committee, including 30 members of the Presidium and 9 members of the Standing Committee; to date, the number of Committee members is 148. Regarding the organization of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee in provinces and cities, before the administrative unit mergers, 42 provinces and cities had such committees; After the merger, there are now 25 provinces and cities, including: An Giang, Bac Ninh, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Dak Lak, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Lam Dong, Long An , Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Quang Ngai, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Tay Ninh, Quang Tri, and Gia Lai.
In 2025, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee closely followed the country's political tasks and the practical situation of the Catholic community to effectively implement the emulation movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and live a good and virtuous life," creating a vibrant and widespread emulation atmosphere. This resulted in the emergence of many good models, innovative approaches, and advanced examples in various localities, contributing to affirming the role and prestige of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee in gathering, uniting, and mobilizing the Catholic community to participate in socio-economic development tasks. The results of the emulation movements and campaigns among the Catholic community were recognized and highly appreciated by Party committees, government agencies, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels; many models have been replicated, creating a positive ripple effect in the community, especially in areas with a large Catholic population. In the field of economic development, Catholic people have always demonstrated diligence, creativity, and proactive innovation in production and business models; in particular, the Catholic business community is growing stronger and playing an important role in local economic development.
With a spirit of solidarity with the nation and a shared commitment to the development of national education, many Catholic religious orders and organizations have actively participated in the socialization of education, especially in the field of preschool education – where the practical needs of the people are increasingly growing. Catholics, priests, monks, and religious organizations have made many practical contributions to the field of public health care, especially in remote areas and disadvantaged communities. The Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committees in provinces and cities have implemented many practical and humane activities, especially during holidays, the "For the Poor" campaign month, and during natural disasters and floods, creating a positive social impact and contributing to strengthening national unity.
In response to Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si' on "Caring for Our Common Home," numerous practical programs and activities have been implemented simultaneously, contributing to raising awareness and mobilizing the participation of Catholics and the entire population in environmental protection and climate change adaptation. The environmental protection movement among Catholics is increasingly developing sustainably, becoming one of the bright spots in the patriotic emulation movement, demonstrating the spirit of social responsibility and the positive contribution of Catholics in building a civilized, prosperous, and beautiful homeland. Leveraging its role as a bridge between Catholics and the government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee closely cooperates with functional forces in crime prevention, combating social evils, and countering distorted narratives that undermine national unity. Participating in monitoring and social criticism as prescribed, thereby contributing to building a clean, strong, and people-friendly government system at all levels... The achievements in 2025 are an important foundation for the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels to confidently carry out their tasks in 2026, continuing to innovate the content and methods of operation, improving the quality of mass mobilization, and contributing more effectively to the development of the country.
