Focus on propaganda work to prevent and control African swine fever

On the afternoon of October 31, Comrade Chau Van Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee led the delegation with representatives of provincial departments and branches to inspect the prevention and control of African swine fever (ASF) in the communes of Nhi Truong, Cau Ngang, Vinh Kim, Long Hiep, My Long, Hiep My and Quoi Dien.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Chau Van Hoa gave a speech directing the inspection session.

The inspection aims to grasp the reality, promptly direct and strengthen the work of preventing and controlling ASF, minimizing damage to farmers, contributing to protecting production and stabilizing the local economy .

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment - Le Van Dong reported on the situation of ASF epidemic.

Since the beginning of the year, the province has had an outbreak of African swine fever in 48 households of 31 hamlets in 15 communes; 926 pigs with nearly 48 tons were destroyed. There are currently 7 communes where the outbreak of African swine fever has not passed 21 days; the outbreak of African swine fever has been declared.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Chau Van Hoa directed communes and wards to strengthen propaganda work in the political system and households to join hands in disease prevention and control. Establish a steering committee to develop a disease prevention and control plan; propose solutions to support chemicals and disinfection funding; manage checkpoints, strengthen inspection and control work. Communes with epidemics must develop epidemic suppression plans in accordance with regulations of specialized sectors.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to continue to strengthen monitoring, zoning and handling to limit the spread; guide localities and breeders to strictly implement biosafety measures, contributing to protecting livestock, stabilizing production and people's lives.

The Department of Finance coordinates the arrangement of funding sources for epidemic prevention and control, ensuring quick and proper support.
