Pepper prices on the world market today increased slightly
In the world market, pepper prices were mostly stable in the latest trading session. Only the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - recorded a slight increase with black pepper up 0.1% and white pepper up 0.09%. Currently, these two items are trading in the range of 7,211 - 10,061 USD/ton (equivalent to 190,018 VND/kg - 265,118 VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian and Malaysian markets both maintained their prices compared to the previous session. Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 remained unchanged, currently at 6,100 USD/ton (about 160,742 VND/kg). Malaysian black pepper and white pepper were also stable, trading at 9,375 USD/ton and 12,400 USD/ton, respectively.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, all products remained stable. The price of 500 gr/l and 550 gr/l black pepper remained stable, hovering at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton (equivalent to 168,647 - 173,917 VND/kg). Comments and forecasts for pepper prices tomorrow
The market is currently being affected by several key factors. Farmers are increasing sales due to high prices, combined with increasing inventories, putting slight pressure on prices. Meanwhile, export demand remains positive, especially from Germany, the largest consumer market in Europe, where Vietnam accounts for 52% of the market share, with exports increasing by 7.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
Expectations of a weaker US dollar and stable logistics costs could also support exports. However, with the 2025-2026 harvest set to begin in late November, increased supply could see prices soften in the short term.
Forecast for tomorrow, domestic pepper prices are likely to remain stable in the range of 143,000 - 145,000 VND/kg, as the market is in a state of balance. If positive signals from exports, especially from China, India or Europe, are reinforced, or the USD further declines, prices may recover to the range of 144,000 - 146,000 VND/kg.
On the contrary, if the sales volume from farmers increases sharply or the international market is sluggish, the price may be adjusted down to 140,000 - 141,000 VND/kg. In the long term, with export demand recovering and global supply tending to tighten due to climate and disease risks, pepper prices are expected to maintain a high level in the fourth quarter of 2025 and 2026.
Overall, pepper prices tomorrow are likely to fluctuate slightly around the current level. Farmers and investors should closely monitor export developments, the USD exchange rate and sales volume from pepper growers to have appropriate strategies. The medium and long-term outlook remains positive thanks to Vietnam's leading position in the global market and its strategy of deep processing to increase product value.
