The road project from Ham Thuan commune to National Highway 1A is 4.4 km long, 33 m wide roadbed, 18 m wide road surface, 5 m wide median strip. The road surface structure is asphalt concrete on crushed stone aggregate layers, with a total investment of nearly 265 billion VND.

This is a key project of the province, connecting National Highway 28 with National Highway 1A and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway at Ma Lam intersection. When completed, the route will contribute to shortening the intra-commune traffic distance, while reducing traffic volume on National Highway 28 for safe traffic, promoting the efficiency of inter-commune traffic infrastructure. The project has a total affected area of 170,867.8 m²/191 households and individuals. Currently, the remaining 43 households/191 households have not agreed to receive money and hand over the site.

According to the reporter's records at the construction site, 3 contractors are implementing many construction projects. Construction sites include grade 3 dirt roadbed, grade 2 crushed stone, and drainage system. Many workers are completing the bridge abutment. A construction unit said that they are having difficulty in supplying soil materials. In addition, the project is also stuck with compensation for site clearance because there is no specific land price.

Recently, on October 14, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh inspected the project. Faced with the above problems, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that compensation and site clearance must ensure harmony between the interests of the State and the people, in accordance with legal regulations. At the same time, he directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to work with the soil and rock supplier to commit to the construction unit that if the materials are not available, other solutions must be considered so as not to affect the construction progress. The Land Fund Development Center must complete the relocation of 2 BTS pillars in October and complete the site clearance dossier. Ham Thuan Commune People's Committee coordinates with units to issue specific land prices before November 15, and at the same time mobilize the remaining households to hand over the site. Construction units, local authorities and investors are speeding up the progress of compensation, site clearance, and removing bottlenecks to speed up project implementation. The goal is to complete the project 5 months ahead of schedule and disburse 100% of the investment capital in 2025 as planned.

Mr. Le Minh Tien, Director of the Ham Thuan Bac Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: According to the contract, the road will be constructed for 730 days, starting from December 6, 2024 to December 5, 2026. However, currently, the construction units are ahead of schedule. In the coming time, the board will work with the construction units to focus on human resources and equipment to speed up the progress, striving to have 2.4/4.4 km of asphalt concrete paved by the end of 2025.
