The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project, section km19 - km53 in Hoa Binh, has a length of 34 km, a scale of 2 lanes, a total investment of nearly 10 trillion VND, including many important items. Designed in a modern style, ensuring aesthetics and being suitable for national culture, the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway is the largest project ever in the Hoa Binh area. In particular, the highlight is the Hoa Son bridge project with a length of 1.2 km, the largest cable-stayed main axis in Vietnam, 550 m long. The bridge is designed to cross Hoa Binh lake, located in the planning of the national tourist area of Hoa Binh lake. With high determination, the Hoa Son bridge project and many other important items in the XL-03 package were started in April 2025, constructed by the consortium of Truong Son Construction Corporation - Trung Chinh Construction and Trading Company Limited - Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company - Thanh Long Group Joint Stock Company.
Colonel Tran Ngoc Tuan - Director of Truong Son 9 Management Board, Truong Son Construction Corporation said: Package XL-03 includes the following items: Construction of 8.7 km of road and 13 bridges on the route, including Hoa Son Bridge. This is one of the most complicated packages, requiring excavation and filling volume of nearly 4.9 million m3 of earth and rock, hundreds of large diameter bored piles and many special technical items. In particular, Hoa Son Bridge constructed on Hoa Binh Lake depends heavily on the lake's water flow, so it encountered many difficulties, especially during the recent storms. As of September 30, the construction volume of package XL-03 reached nearly 20.4% of the contract, with production value of more than 125 billion VND, reaching 63% of the third quarter plan. Despite many difficulties in terms of site, weather, geology and material sources, the staff, engineers and workers of the Truong Son 9 Management Board and construction units have continuously made efforts, proactively organized reasonable construction, maintained progress and ensured absolute labor safety.
Promoting the spirit of "Phong Chau Bridge"
Recognizing the importance of the XL-03 package, especially the Hoa Son bridge project, immediately after completing the Phong Chau bridge task, Truong Son Construction Corporation launched a peak emulation campaign to "finish" the Hoa Son bridge and other items of the XL-03 package. Major General Nguyen Huu Ngoc - Commander, General Director of Truong Son Construction Corporation affirmed: Promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the spirit of Truong Son in the past, all cadres, engineers and workers are determined to unite, overcome difficulties, ensure progress, quality and absolute safety. The whole unit turned the momentum of the Phong Chau bridge construction into a driving force to conquer the Hoa Son bridge - a project of great significance on the highway.
From October 15 to December 22, the emulation campaign was launched with the target of production value of 304.5 billion VND, acceptance of 312 billion VND and payment of 293 billion VND. The main volume includes 935,000 m3 of earth and rock, 392 bored piles, 43 prestressed concrete beams, 13,382 m3 of concrete and more than 1,800 tons of steel...
To achieve the goal, the units simultaneously worked in 3 shifts, increased human resources, machinery and materials. The entire construction site currently mobilized 350 officers, engineers, workers, 135 machines and equipment, along with 3 concrete mixing stations, 1 crushing station and 1 material port serving continuously day and night. Each unit has specific targets: Company 99 is in charge of constructing bridges Km45+608, Km46+085 with more than 90 billion VND in production value; Minh Faas Company constructed bridges Km44+906,65 and Km48+050 with more than 57 billion VND; Thanh Long Company, Hung Thanh Loc, Trung Quan, Truong Son 185, Truong Son Branch 28... simultaneously joined in with the determination to "Accelerate - Overcome difficulties - Reach the finish line".
Director of Truong Son 9 Management Board Tran Ngoc Tuan affirmed: Along with the spirit of emulation, the Management Board requires all units to strictly comply with State laws, military discipline, ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles, prevent fire and explosion, and preserve the construction environment. At the construction site, 100% of workers wear full protective gear, the construction area is equipped with warning signs, safety barriers, and ensures smooth traffic. In addition, the Management Board closely coordinates with local authorities, investors and supervision consultants to promptly resolve problems related to site, design and material sources.

Each emulation period is a step forward in terms of progress, technique and sense of responsibility, creating a vibrant atmosphere, encouraging officers, engineers and workers to overcome difficulties, continuously work in 3 shifts, determined to bring the project to the finish line on schedule, ensuring absolute quality and safety, contributing to shortening travel time, opening up opportunities for economic and tourism development for the Northwest region.
