The head of the Da Can residential area, Trieu Thi Chuyen, disseminates community tasks through a Zalo group.
As the head of the residential area, Ms. Chuyen was always concerned about how to help the residents develop their economy and increase their family income. Thinking this way, she realized it was very difficult to achieve. She believed that as a Party member, she had to lead by example so that the others would follow. With the support of her family, she resolutely put her plan into action, starting with planting acacia trees on her family's 7-hectare hillside forest land, investing in fertilizer and carefully caring for the trees to ensure their healthy growth. Afterward, her family continued to invest in livestock farming, raising cattle, pigs, and chickens. The average income from her family's integrated economic model currently reaches approximately 200 million VND per year. The family also opened a general store selling essential goods to serve the residents, both to generate additional income and to facilitate information gathering, propaganda, and mobilization of the people.
The Đá Cạn area currently has 24 households, all belonging to ethnic minority groups, including 21 Dao Quần Chẹt households and 3 Mường households. The people mainly engage in agriculture and forestry. Given the unique characteristics of the ethnic minority population, the head of the area, Triệu Thị Chuyên, actively promotes and encourages the people to effectively implement the policies, guidelines, and laws of the Party and State, as well as the regulations and customs of the area, especially preserving ethnic identity, eliminating outdated customs, refraining from deforestation for slash-and-burn farming; planting trees and forests; and raising livestock to improve their lives and increase their income.
"Slow and steady wins the race," the people of Da Can area have accessed and benefited from support policies for ethnic minorities, leading to many positive changes in their lives. The number of poor and near-poor households decreases annually. Outdated customs have disappeared; the beautiful cultural identity and customs of ethnic minorities are preserved and promoted. Political security and social order in the area are stable; ethnic minorities have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, promoting the spirit of solidarity and unity to overcome difficulties in labor and production, and participating in activities initiated by political organizations.
Head of Trieu Thi Chuyen shared: “The biggest difficulty is the lack of phone and television signals. Through understanding the thoughts and aspirations of the people, I hope that Party committees and authorities at all levels will continue to pay attention to and implement support policies so that our ethnic minority people have the opportunity to strive for improvement. In particular, attention should be paid to organizing production, guiding production, and supporting education and training so that our children can study, have stable jobs, escape poverty, and rise to legitimate wealth.”
