Hoa Son Commune: Diversifying economic models associated with new rural construction

Aiming at the goal of reaching the new rural finish line, Hoa Son commune has focused on developing many effective agricultural production models, contributing to socio-economic development.

Ea Trul Agricultural Service Cooperative is one of the effective collective economic models. With 32 members, of which 22 households are ethnic minorities, over the years, the Cooperative has helped many households escape poverty and rise up.

Cu Mil Dam, managed by Ea Trul Agricultural Service Cooperative, regulates irrigation water for more than 100 hectares of crops in Hoa Son.

Similarly, the Agricultural Production Cooperative Group 2 (Hoa Son Commune) also made a change in economic development. Mr. Nguyen Cong Phuc, Head of the Cooperative Group, said that the group has studied effective farming models to guide people to follow.

A typical example is the rice growing model. Previously, people in the village mainly grew the fragrant Dai rice variety, with a yield of 1 ton/sao and a selling price of 7,000 - 7,500 VND/kg. After the cooperative group cooperated with the Thang Binh Agricultural Service Cooperative (Dang Kang commune) to bring in the ST24 rice variety, the yield reached 1.2 - 1.5 tons/sao, with a selling price of 11,000 VND/kg...

In addition to focusing on developing the collective economy, many household economic models have been effectively implemented. For example, the model of growing U Hong lychee of Mr. Bui Trong Quat's family in village 10. Mr. Quat shared that in 2015, he planted 400 lychee trees on an area of 2 hectares. After three years, the lychee trees were ready for harvest. Each year, his family harvests 20 tons of lychee, traders come to buy at the garden at a price of 30,000 - 40,000 VND/kg. In addition, he also grafted branches to supply more than 2,000 lychee seedlings, providing a stable source of income.

In Hoa Son commune, there are currently more than 100 hectares of lychee growing land, mainly concentrated in hamlets 7 and 10. Thanks to the advantage of ripening nearly two months earlier than lychees in the northern provinces, it is convenient for consumption.

In addition to growing lychee, the model of raising cows in barns is also a strength of Hoa Son commune. This model brings stable income to the people.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien, Head of the Economic Department of Hoa Son Commune, said that the gradual transformation of crop structure, application of new varieties with high productivity, quality and technical advances in mass production has contributed to increasing the value of the commune's crop industry. The total food output of the commune in the period of 2020 - 2025 reached 121,872 tons (equal to 105.51% compared to the resolution).
