Nam Ka Commune: Focus on investing in essential infrastructure

Identifying infrastructure as the driving force for development, in the period of 2021 - 2025, Nam Ka commune has effectively integrated many capital sources of national target programs, prioritizing the upgrading of traffic, irrigation, electricity and civil works with a total capital from the New Rural Construction Program of more than 6.7 billion VND; capital from the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program of 3.86 billion VND.

From these resources, many essential projects have been completed and put into effect, improving production conditions, opening up opportunities to access social services, connecting markets, and creating favorable trading conditions for people in villages.

By 2025, the rate of hardening of the commune's roads will reach about 75%, contributing to reducing the cost of transporting agricultural products and promoting the consumption of goods. The total production area with guaranteed irrigation will reach 85%.

The traffic route from National Highway 27 to the center of Nam Ka commune is being invested in and built.

Nam Ka also focuses on building grassroots cultural institutions, expanding the broadcasting system, organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities. According to the People's Committee of Nam Ka commune, when the infrastructure is gradually completed, people's lives have changed significantly. The poverty rate has decreased by an average of over 4% per year; the political system is stable, security and order are maintained.

However, Nam Ka commune's infrastructure still faces many challenges. In particular, the road along the Krong No River has recorded many landslides. During the period 2020 - 2024, the superiors have allocated funding to invest in about 1,000 m of embankment and 9 culverts across the road. Recently, this road has continued to be eroded, so the Nam Ka Commune People's Committee has issued a document proposing a plan to build 3 anti-erosion embankment works along the Krong No River with a length of 3,620 m.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Ka Commune, Nguyen Chi Luan, said that in the period of 2026 - 2030, Nam Ka Commune will continue to prioritize resources to continue completing inter-commune and inter-village traffic routes. Regarding production, Nam Ka Commune will continue to invest in irrigation systems; upgrade irrigation systems, build disaster prevention and control works and support production in areas lacking water.

The material and spiritual life of Nam Ka commune people is increasingly improved.

According to the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030, Nam Ka needs more than 1,107.6 billion VND to complete essential infrastructure. Synchronous investment in infrastructure will be the "key" for Nam Ka to sustainably reduce poverty in the next phase.
