The Thach Khe commune water supply project, managed by the Thach Ha (former) District Investment and Construction Project Management Board, was completed on February 9, 2024. The project aimed to provide clean water to 1,009 households in 7 villages (within the former Thach Khe commune). However, due to difficulties and obstacles, the water supply to residents was delayed compared to the original plan.
Following the implementation of the two-tiered local government model, the Party Committee and the government of Thach Khe commune have focused on reviewing and coordinating with Ha Tinh Water Supply Joint Stock Company to address existing issues, inspect pipelines, conduct pressure tests, and complete the water quality testing system at the outlet points to supply water to the people.
From 3 PM on December 10th, more than 470 households in the villages of Tan Phuc, Thanh Lan, Tan Huong, Dong Giang, Dan Khe, and Phuc Thanh received water supply, fulfilling a long-awaited desire of the local people.
According to the plan, in the coming days, local authorities and specialized agencies will provide water to an additional 230 households in 6 villages; in Vinh Tien village, the pipeline is currently being repaired, and water supply is expected to be completed before the upcoming Lunar New Year, ensuring 100% of households have access to clean water as per the project.
Bringing clean water to people in rural areas, especially in Thach Khe commune which has a heavily contaminated water source, is of great significance in improving the quality of life and health of the people; it demonstrates the concern and efforts of the local government in social welfare and building sustainable new rural areas.
