This iron ore mine reservoir has a capacity of approximately 20 million cubic meters of water. When the water overflows, combined with heavy rainfall, it will threaten the residential areas downstream.
To remedy the situation, that same afternoon, the Thach Khe commune authorities mobilized approximately 100 local residents along with militia and commune police forces, using soil, sandbags, and mechanical equipment to reinforce the breached section of the dike.

The remediation work has now been completed. However, given the forecast of continued heavy rain in Ha Tinh in the coming days, authorities are on standby at the scene, monitoring the water level in the reservoir to provide timely assistance in case of any incidents, ensuring the safety of people in nearby low-lying areas.
