Implementing the conclusions of General Secretary To Lam regarding the Long Thanh Airport Project.

(Dong Nai) - On December 11th, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province, Nguyen Van Ut, and the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vo Tan Duc, chaired a conference to disseminate and implement Notice No. 420-TB/VPTW, dated November 17, 2025, from the Central Party Office regarding the conclusions of General Secretary To Lam at the working session on the Long Thanh International Airport Project.

Attending the conference were Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Kim Long; and Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Finance Truong Thi Huong Binh. The conference was connected online to 95 locations in wards and communes throughout the province.

On November 17, 2025, the Central Party Office issued the conclusions of General Secretary To Lam at a working session on the Long Thanh Airport Project. In it, General Secretary To Lam agreed in principle with the recommendations of the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee to maximize the effectiveness of the Long Thanh Airport Project.

Based on that, on December 4, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee issued Plan No. 23-KH/TU to implement Conclusion Notice No. 420, aiming to raise awareness and resolutely act to effectively implement the directives and orientations for the development of Dong Nai province. Specifically, it outlines objectives, tasks, solutions, responsibilities, and completion timelines for the contents of the development orientation of Dong Nai province as stated in Conclusion Notice No. 420.

On December 4, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee also issued Plan No. 198/KH-UBND to implement Conclusion Notice No. 420. This plan identifies key tasks to be implemented, including: tasks related to specific mechanisms and policies; tasks related to spatial development planning and economic corridors; tasks related to the implementation of Phase 2 of the Long Thanh Airport Project; tasks related to the implementation of key transportation infrastructure; tasks related to logistics, trade and services; and tasks related to tourism, culture, and ecology.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Tan Duc said: This is a very important conference to thoroughly understand the orientations, tasks, and key solutions in accordance with the conclusions of General Secretary To Lam. After the conference, units must develop specific plans and action programs. Each unit and each sector must commit to the progress and immediately implement the assigned tasks according to the plan of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee following the "6 clear" principle.

Specifically, focus should be placed on five key tasks: elevating development thinking with the orientation that Long Thanh Airport is not just an airport but also a new strategic driving force for the development of the region and the nation; focusing on perfecting and effectively implementing specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Dong Nai province; reviewing and adjusting the planning and spatial development orientation, and economic corridor associated with Long Thanh Airport and Cai Mep seaport; accelerating the development of multimodal connectivity infrastructure; and forming a modern and integrated ecosystem of aviation services, logistics, and airport cities.

Concluding the conference, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Ut, emphasized: Based on Conclusion Notice No. 420, relevant units must clearly identify two basic tasks that need to be implemented: those that need to be done immediately and those that need to be oriented and updated into the planning so that the province can calculate and implement investment in the 2026-2030 period.

The immediate tasks include investing in the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh Airport; and the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh Railway Project. Simultaneously, investment should be made in developing an ecosystem to support Long Thanh Airport, such as accommodation areas, restaurants, and hotels. The planning should also be adjusted to increase the population of Long Thanh and Nhon Trach urban areas to 2.5 million people.

Comrade Nguyen Van Ut requested the Department of Finance to update the contents of Conclusion Notice No. 420 into the revised provincial planning project. Departments, sectors, and localities should develop plans, roadmaps, timelines, and clearly assign tasks to effectively implement the contents of Conclusion Notice No. 420.
