Before being raised, the national flag is neatly folded and carefully preserved. Each soldier has their own specific duties in the flag-raising ceremony, but they must all coordinate smoothly and seamlessly to raise the national flag high.

To perform the flag-raising ceremony, a three-person honor guard is needed. One person is responsible for attaching the flag to the flagpole, while the other two are responsible for pulling the pulley to raise the flag high. They must practice regularly to ensure their movements are smooth, graceful, solemn, and, most importantly, they must be in good health because the wind on the summit of Fansipan blows very strongly.
The sacred moment of raising the flag atop the windswept Fansipan peak fills every visitor with pride as a child of Vietnam. For international tourists, those witnessing this solemn ceremony for the first time, the emotions are equally special. They feel the sacredness and emotion in the atmosphere.
