Proud to participate in the program
These days, artists and actors from the Hai Phong Contemporary Art Theatre are busily preparing an art program to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly , scheduled to take place on the morning of December 16, 2025, at the City Convention and Performance Center.
This is a special political and artistic task, requiring the utmost effort from all staff and artists to accurately convey the historical spirit of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly on January 6, 1946.
Director and Meritorious Artist Tran Thanh Nam said: "We aim for a program that is formal and modern, yet still deeply rooted in the culture and spirit of Hai Phong city."

The program's theme revolves around the aspiration for development, innovation, and integration, while honoring the role of the National Assembly in the nation-building journey from its founding to the present. According to the director, the artistic materials used this year are diverse, showcasing a combination of multimedia performances, symphonic, traditional, and contemporary music, along with visual imagery to create a dignified yet approachable whole, appealing to a wide range of audiences.
That effort was evident on the faces of each performer, including young singer Ngoc Hieu, who confided that when standing on stage, he clearly felt the responsibility of an artist to bring history closer to the audience through music. Each performance had very high demands on expressive nuances. The singer had to ensure that their voice was not only accurate but also conveyed the spirit and faith of the people throughout the 80 years of the National Assembly's formation and development.

"It's not just about the moment of standing in front of the spotlight; I also feel proud to contribute a small part to this nationally significant event, where each artist pays tribute to history and spreads love for the homeland through art," he expressed.
The art of connecting beliefs and aspirations.
The art program commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly is structured with a continuous narrative spanning from the past to the present, comprising three distinct chapters.
Chapter 1, "The Aspiration for Independence, Freedom, and Happiness," recreates the historical atmosphere of the autumn of 1945, the time when the people entered the General Election with fervent patriotism and absolute trust in the fledgling revolutionary government.
Chapter 2, "Beloved Homeland," takes the audience to an emotionally rich space, portraying the image of a resilient nation and the Vietnamese people's strong character and compassion.
Chapter 3, "Radiant Vietnam," embodies the spirit of integration, creativity, and breakthrough, reflecting faith in a new era for the nation.

Through music, visuals, and theatrical language, the program evokes a momentous event in constitutional and nation-building history: the first general election on January 6, 1946 – a milestone affirming the people's right to self-governance and the birth of the National Assembly, the highest organ of state power. From its initial body of 333 delegates, the Vietnamese National Assembly today has continuously grown stronger, making significant contributions to the reform process, the improvement of laws, and the oversight and decision-making on important national issues.
People's Artist Khanh Hoa, Director of the Hai Phong Contemporary Art Theatre, shared that throughout the cultural program celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly, the songs praised love for the homeland and country. The program affirmed that under the correct leadership of the Party, with the coordination of the entire political system and the companionship of the people, the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to strongly innovate and make even greater contributions to development and international integration. "When the program airs, the audience can clearly feel the spirit of unity, pride, and the aspiration for innovation that the National Assembly and the people are striving towards," People's Artist Khanh Hoa expressed.

From the bustling atmosphere of rehearsals to the meticulous attention to detail in every artistic design, this is not just a performance commemorating a major event, but also a bridge connecting the public back to the glorious history of the nation. The stage lights will shine brightly as proud melodies resound, telling the story of 80 years of building and growth of the Vietnamese National Assembly – a story continued by the faith, responsibility, and strong aspirations of the country today.
