| Small traders have resumed selling their goods in the Van Xa market area (Huong Tra ward). |
Previously, due to flooding and strong currents on this road section, the Huong Tra Ward Police proactively coordinated with the City Police's Traffic Police force to reroute, regulate, and guide people to participate in traffic safely.
Currently, except for a few routes such as Song Bo Street, Tran Quoc Tuan Street, Ly Thai Tong Street, Buu Ke Street, etc., and widespread flooding in some residential areas, the water level has receded on many inner-city roads. Some local markets have resumed operations.
According to preliminary statistics, currently, 1,556 out of 4,532 houses in Huong Tra ward are flooded.
In Binh Dien commune, 11 households had to be relocated. By the morning of October 28th, the floodwaters had receded in the commune's flooded areas, so many of these households had returned home. Some remaining households in areas at risk of landslides sought refuge with relatives.
"Thanks to proactive prevention and mitigation measures, Binh Dien has not suffered significant damage yet," said Mr. Tran Xuan Anh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dien commune.
In Kim Tra, except for Thuong Khe residential area, 26 out of 27 residential areas in the entire ward are still flooded. Main roads are flooded from 0.5 to 2 meters, while provincial roads 8A and 8B are flooded from 0.5 to over 1.5 meters.
As of 11:00 AM on October 28th, Kim Tra Ward was still experiencing widespread power outages. Currently, 61 households in the ward have been evacuated to safe locations, and 656 fish cages and rafts have been securely anchored.
Because the water flow has slowed down, people can still travel by boat, so trade activities continue. To date, there have been no reports of being cut off or experiencing shortages of food or essential supplies.
