Pepper price assessment and forecast
Pepper prices in the short term
The market is in the accumulation phase after a strong growth cycle. The lack of large orders and cautious buyer sentiment make it difficult for prices to increase dramatically in the short term. However, the fact that prices remain stable at high levels (VND 142,000–143,000/kg for domestic and USD 6,400–6,600/ton for export) is a positive signal for growers and businesses, especially when compared to the downward pressure on prices of many other agricultural products.
Long-term pepper prices
The outlook for pepper prices remains positive thanks to the shrinking global supply. Pepper cultivation areas in Vietnam, India and Indonesia have decreased in recent years, while demand from major markets such as the US, Germany and Saudi Arabia has been stable. If factors such as favorable weather and improved export conditions are met, pepper prices may increase by the end of 2025, especially during the peak consumption season at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year. However, businesses need to pay attention to quality standards to meet the strict requirements of the international market.
The pepper market is maintaining stability at high prices, reflecting the balance between supply and demand. Although there are no signs of a breakthrough in the short term, the long-term outlook remains positive thanks to limited supply and stable demand. Growers and businesses should closely monitor technical factors and consumption trends to optimize profits in a volatile market.
