Vietnam's domestic pepper market on October 13, 2025, market prices continued to move sideways, Ho Chi Minh City led. Vietnam's domestic pepper market in the trading session on October 13, 2025 continued to show signs of stability when most key provinces kept the purchase price unchanged compared to the previous day.

Ho Chi Minh City is currently holding the highest market price at 149,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day.

Dak Lak and Lam Dong share the next position with a price of 148,000 VND/kg. Both regions maintained stable prices.

Dong Nai closed the session at 147,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day.

Finally, Gia Lai recorded a purchase price of 146,000 VND/kg, no change.

Since mid-2025, domestic pepper prices have experienced many fluctuations. June witnessed a sharp decline, at one point the price was only around 123,000 - 125,000 VND/kg, the lowest level in nearly a year. However, in the third quarter, prices began to recover as supply narrowed and export demand increased, especially after major producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia were affected by adverse weather.

At the end of August, domestic pepper prices increased sharply by 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg, bringing the general level to 145,000 - 148,000 VND/kg, and since then, the slow but steady upward trend has been maintained. The market entered October in a state of "low supply, stable demand", making it difficult for prices to decrease sharply.

Experts say that in the short term, domestic pepper prices will likely remain at 145,000 - 155,000 VND/kg, depending on the region and quality of the product. If supply continues to tighten, prices may rise above 155,000 VND/kg by the end of the month. Conversely, if farmers sell massively at the beginning of the new harvest, prices may adjust slightly but will hardly decrease significantly.

In the long term, the pepper market picture remains positive. Vietnam continues to maintain its position as the world’s largest pepper exporter, while factors such as climate change, rising production costs and recovering global consumer demand are creating conditions for prices to remain high in the coming period.

The world pepper market in the trading session on October 13, 2025 recorded a slight downward trend in Indonesian products, while pepper prices of other major producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, and Malaysia remained stable, with no significant changes compared to the previous trading session.

Indonesian pepper price is the only market with price adjustment today, and is on a downward trend:

Indonesian Black Pepper price decreased by 0.32%, closing at 7,230 USD/ton.

Indonesian White Pepper prices also decreased slightly by 0.31%, currently remaining at 10,088 USD/ton.

The Brazilian and Malaysian markets today recorded complete stability across all categories, with no changes compared to the previous day:

Brazilian Black Pepper ASTA 570 price was stable at USD 6,200/ton, unchanged.

Malaysian ASTA Black Pepper price is stable, currently remaining at 9,500 USD/ton.

Malaysian ASTA White Pepper price was stable at USD 12,500/ton, the highest price in the table.

Vietnam's pepper prices of all types were stable compared to yesterday, with no fluctuations recorded in any segment:

Vietnamese black pepper (500 g/l) reached 6,600 USD/ton.

Vietnamese black pepper (550 g/l) reached 6,800 USD/ton.

Similarly, the price of Vietnam White Pepper ASTA remained stable compared to yesterday, reaching 9,250 USD/ton, with no new changes recorded.

According to the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 220,000 tons of pepper, with a turnover of more than 950 million USD, up 10% in volume and nearly 30% in value over the same period last year. Notably, the amount of pepper exported to the US and European countries continued to increase, accounting for more than 35% of the total turnover of the industry.

Analysts say domestic pepper prices are at their highest level since the beginning of the year and are likely to remain high until the end of October due to limited supply and recovering demand in major markets. However, if Brazil or Indonesia increase exports sharply, prices may stagnate in the short term.

At the end of this morning's session, domestic pepper prices remained at the peak of 150,000 VND/kg - a level that reflects the global market trend and is a positive signal for pepper growers in the preparation stage for the new crop.
