On October 13, Military Hospital 175 ( Ministry of National Defense ) coordinated with Division 370 (Air Defense - Air Force) to organize a flight, inspect and accept the helicopter landing pad on the roof of the 1,000-bed building of the hospital.

Attending the event were Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, representatives of the leadership and commanders of Division 370, Corps 18, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, People's Committee of Hanh Thong Tay Ward, and leaders and commanders of Military Hospital 175...

At 9:00 a.m., helicopters of Division 370 performed hovering, take-off, landing, approaching the landing site, coordinating air traffic and ensuring flight safety according to the technical procedures of the Ministry of National Defense.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son acknowledged that the hospital has made remarkable progress, becoming one of the leading hospitals in the army and the country, with a strong team of professors and doctors.

This is also the first medical unit in the country to own two helipads, of which the first one at the Orthopedic Trauma Institute has been in use for many years, while the second one belongs to a larger, more modern hospital and has now been inspected and accepted.

Mr. Son emphasized that putting the helipad into operation has special significance in air rescue work, especially in the "golden hour, golden minute, golden second" to save the patient's life.

Not only serving officers and soldiers but also serving the people with the spirit of "The Army proactively comes to the people".

Major General Tran Quoc Viet - Director of Military Hospital 175 - said that after completing the acceptance test, the hospital will conduct training flights including day and night flights, with the coordination of Army Corps 18.

It is expected that the training flight will be completed by the end of October or early November 2025 and officially put into use. The development of air ambulance services will not only serve the military, islands, remote areas, but also serve people in hard-to-reach areas in the city - especially in cases of emergency during the "golden hour".

Statistics over the past 5 years show that on average, Military Hospital 175 has 2-3 emergency flights per month. Up to this point, nearly 100 flights have been carried out, transporting more than 100 patients safely to the hospital.
