French chef reveals top 9 delicious restaurants to try in Da Nang

Da Nang is a central coastal city, famous for its cuisine , natural scenery, and lifestyle to both international tourists and foreigners living and working in Vietnam.

Chef Olivier Corti, head chef and owner of a long-standing French fine-dining restaurant in Da Nang . Olivier shared that he used to work in his hometown Lyon, France before moving to Monaco and Hong Kong (China). Finally, he chose Da Nang to live in 2017. After many years working as a chef in Vietnam and understanding the cuisine, Olivier chose his 6 favorite restaurants in Da Nang.

"There is no dish more typical of Da Nang than Quang noodles - noodles cooked with seafood are a symbol of this land."

According to him, my favorite Quang noodle shop is Mi Quang Co Sau . Tran Hung Dao Street, An Hai Tay, Son Tra). A restaurant located near the Han River that was recommended by Michelin. "I went there to eat and really enjoyed it."

A street seafood restaurant in Da Nang that Olivier loves is Chau Son 1 Seafood (Chau Nga) on Nai Tu 2 Street, An Hai Bac, Son Tra. This is a popular restaurant serving customers right on the sidewalk with corrugated iron tables and green plastic chairs.

Early in the morning, the restaurant owner and chef get seafood from boats that have just arrived at the port, so the ingredients are very fresh. Customers will enjoy all kinds of food grilled over charcoal from clams, oysters, squid... to bread. In addition to grilled food, the restaurant also attracts customers with seafood hotpot, shrimp with butter and garlic sauce...

Ba Ro Seafood on Ly Tu Tan Street, Tho Quang, Son Tra is also a delicious seafood restaurant that Olivier often visits. The restaurant has a rich menu with all kinds of fresh seafood such as chili crab, garlic grilled oysters, creamy shrimp...

This restaurant is located a bit far north of Da Nang city center, about 10 minutes from Linh Ung pagoda, so you can combine eating and visiting the pagoda during the day.

In contrast to the above addresses, Moc on To Hien Thanh Street, Phuoc My, Son Tra is a famous place for tourists, offering a more comfortable culinary experience. The restaurant serves indoors with cool air conditioning, attracting tourists to line up in long lines waiting for their turn. The seafood menu here is very diverse and impressive, such as shrimp, crab, sea snails, clams, oysters, scallops and even sashimi.

A beefsteak for breakfast includes fried eggs with beef slices and beef balls sizzling on a hot pan, a bowl of soup, a plate of fresh vegetables and a baguette. The French chef often comes here for breakfast, "When eating beefsteak here, remember to try the restaurant's homemade sauce and chili sauce, and order a cup of iced coffee for a perfect start to the day."

In addition to traditional dishes and restaurants, Da Nang attracts a lot of Korean tourists and "digital nomads", so international cuisine is also developing rapidly. Veteran Korean BBQ restaurant on Dinh Nghe street, An Hai Bac, Son Tra is a typical example.

Olivier especially likes the Korean-style grilled red meat here. "They source quality meat while still ensuring reasonable prices and attentive service. I often come here to eat after 10:30 pm because it's quite convenient."

A good place to eat Japanese food in Da Nang according to Chef Olivier is Nagisa restaurant on An Thuong 4 street, My An, Ngu Han Son. Calling this place a "hidden gem", the French chef highly appreciates the ramen here with quality ingredients, a quiet enough restaurant space and delicious lunch sets.
