Students are educated about love of heritage through practical experiences.

Participating in the program, students learned about the history, culture, architecture of My Son temple and artifacts at the Sa Huynh - Champa Culture Museum.

Children also experience many lively interactive activities such as painting artifacts; sculpting and carving statues; making pottery; embroidering heritage motifs on handbags; printing pictures of gods on Do paper in Dong Ho style; or participating in folk games such as O an quan, flipping pictures associated with decorative motifs, gods and Champa artifacts.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Deputy Director in charge of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, said that heritage education plays the role of a "door" connecting the young generation with the past, contributing to raising awareness, cultivating knowledge and nurturing the spirit of respecting history and culture.

Nurturing love of heritage from lessons right in the heart of a thousand-year-old relic

Realizing that, from very early on, the unit focused on bringing heritage closer to students, creating connections and forming awareness of preserving and passing on cultural values to the next generation.

Over the years, in addition to sightseeing and visual experiences at the temples, the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board has also organized many creative playgrounds, such as a video making contest introducing My Son heritage in Vietnamese and English; a video production contest promoting the Sa Huynh - Champa Culture Museum; and the "I am a heritage tour guide" contest, in which students practice explaining and leading tours in English. These activities help students practice foreign language skills, presentation skills and increase their ability to access cultural knowledge.

Most of the programs received positive feedback from schools, teachers, students, as well as many tourists who are scientists and heritage management experts. This is the motivation for heritage education activities in My Son to continue to spread strongly in the coming years.
