Speaking at the thematic session, Director of the Import-Export Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade Nguyen Anh Son said that the role of logistics has been increasingly recognized by management agencies and the business community, but the implementation of solutions in the Central region has not yet achieved the desired results.

The region's logistics infrastructure, including seaports, yard systems, logistics centers and East-West traffic routes, is still lacking in synchronization, logistics costs are still high, and the connection between localities and between logistics enterprises and manufacturing enterprises is not really tight.

Besides, most of the enterprises in the Central region are small and medium-sized, their capacity to provide integrated services is still limited; their experience in operating modern supply chains and ability to expand the market are still weak.

These are bottlenecks that need to be removed if the Central region wants to seize opportunities and transform itself into one of the important logistics centers of the country and region.

By correctly identifying difficulties, proactively approaching regional cooperation models, attracting strategic investment, developing high value-added services and promoting multimodal connectivity between seaports - airports - roads - railways - waterways, the Central region can completely create momentum for logistics to make a breakthrough.

At the thematic session, 4 presentations and shares from leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang city, logistics enterprises and domestic and international speakers focused on in-depth analysis of the current situation of logistics activities in the Central region.

The frank opinions pointed out the limitations that are hindering the development of the industry such as: unsynchronized connection infrastructure, high transportation costs, shortage of quality human resources, port exploitation capacity not commensurate with potential, along with digital transformation and technology application in supply chain management still in the early stages.

Delegates shared lessons learned from operational practices, especially experience in optimizing supply chains, enhancing regional connectivity, and applying digital technology to improve operational efficiency.

On that basis, many solutions were proposed to promote the development of the Central logistics industry in the right direction, emphasizing the completion of inter-regional transport infrastructure, promoting digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence in transport and warehousing management, expanding the green logistics model and enhancing connections between businesses in the region.

According to delegates, the synchronous implementation of solutions will contribute to improving the quality of logistics services, reducing the cost of goods circulation and increasing the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, especially in the context of increasing requirements for fast, green and sustainable delivery from the international market.
