'Fairyland' in Da Nang fascinates people, ranked in the top 20 most beautiful villages in the world

Amidst the peaceful river region, Cam Thanh appears like a "fairyland" of Da Nang with green coconut trees, winding canals and the simple life of the countryside people.

Recently, Forbes magazine (USA) honored Cam Thanh (Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang city) as one of the 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025, ranked 20th in the list. This is the only village in Vietnam to appear in this prestigious ranking.

Cam Thanh is located in a special location - the confluence of three rivers Thu Bon, Truong Giang and Lo Canh Giang before flowing into the East Sea. This is also the buffer zone of the world biosphere reserve Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An, possessing a rich brackish water ecosystem, acting as the "green lung" of the entire region.

The village stands out with the Bay Mau coconut forest - a mangrove ecosystem in the coastal estuary, surrounded by natural sand dunes. Along with that are familiar images: rivers, fields, bamboo hedges, coconut bushes, ancient communal houses, winding village roads... all blending together like a watercolor painting.

Mr. Tran Tan Dung - Chairman of Hoi An Dong Ward People's Committee said that on Cam Thanh land, each canal, each coconut bush, each field is associated with the lives and memories of many generations of people here, in both wartime and peacetime.

"Cam Thanh people are always conscious of preserving the landscape and protecting the environment as a natural thing, without any forced effort. It can be said that they are the ones who created the beautiful village that it is today," he shared.

According to Mr. Dung, Cam Thanh being honored by Forbes is not only a source of pride for local people, but also affirms the increasingly high position of Da Nang tourism on the international map.

This is an opportunity for Cam Thanh to continue to promote its potential, preserve its identity and build the brand of "green - heritage - sustainable destination", contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese tourism closer to international friends.
