Actively promoting the potential of Gia Lai agricultural products

(GLO)- The first Gia Lai Provincial Agricultural Products Festival associated with the 2025 Outstanding Agricultural Products Contest (taking place from October 17 to 19 in Pleiku ward) is an outstanding agricultural event, attracting the attention of a large number of farmers, cooperatives, businesses and consumers.

On this occasion, Gia Lai Newspaper and Radio and Television reporters had an interview with Ms. Ro Cham H'Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, to clarify the meaning of the Festival, outstanding innovations and orientations for agricultural development in the coming time.

* What is the significance of the first Agricultural Festival held in Gia Lai for farmers and the development of local agriculture, madam?

- The first Agricultural Products Festival is a particularly important event, not only to honor typical agricultural products but also to promote the Gia Lai agricultural product brand to a large number of consumers inside and outside the province. This is also an opportunity for us to open up opportunities to connect supply and demand, promoting the consumption of agricultural products in a sustainable and modern direction. The event contributes to arousing the spirit of creativity and the desire to rise of farmers, cooperatives and local enterprises.

At the same time, this is also an activity to celebrate major political events of the province and the whole country such as the Provincial Party Congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress, the Farmers' Association Congress at all levels and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Association (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025), contributing to enriching the cultural and economic life of farmers.

* This is a new event, can you share about the preparation process and the important factors that the Provincial Farmers' Association focuses on to ensure the success of the festival?

- For the festival to be successful, the Provincial Farmers' Association Standing Committee has developed a very detailed plan, clearly assigning tasks to each department. We closely coordinate with departments, branches and local authorities to implement stages from organization, promotion to logistics. Communication work is focused on with many diverse forms such as hanging banners, flags and using the Association's digital platform as well as local newspapers and radio stations.

Regarding the display, we carefully prepare space, sound, light, and food hygiene and safety to create a professional and attractive event.

* What are the outstanding features of the agricultural products displayed at this year's festival and what do they show about modern technological innovation in production and promotion, madam?

- The festival attracted 70 participating units with more than 300 diverse products. In particular, many key products such as coffee, pepper, macadamia, honey, ginger tea or essential oils are all produced according to standards such as OCOP, VietGAP, with modern processing and packaging processes and beautiful designs.

A very notable new point is that farmers have boldly applied digital technology in promoting products and making cashless payments. This creates an image of civilized, modern and friendly agriculture for consumers, especially visitors.

* In the context of many challenges such as climate change and rising raw material prices, how do you evaluate the product quality and competitiveness of Gia Lai farmers today? What role does the typical agricultural product contest play in promoting this development?

- The quality of Gia Lai's agricultural products is increasingly improving. Many products have achieved OCOP certification of 3 stars or higher, have clear origin and ensure food hygiene and safety. Organic production models, VietGAP and supply chain linkage are being replicated.

The typical agricultural product contest is an important highlight, stimulating the spirit of creativity, ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of the people. Through the contest, the products are not only evaluated and recognized but also widely introduced, helping the subjects confidently expand production and improve competitiveness in the market.

* After the festival, what plans does the Provincial Farmers' Association have to continue supporting farmers in applying science and technology, digital transformation and connecting markets to develop sustainable agriculture?

- The Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to promote training activities, digital skills training and transfer of science and technology to members, to help farmers both produce well and do business effectively in the digital age. We will also support farmers to connect with enterprises, banks and credit institutions to easily access capital, promote the development of ecological agricultural models, and adapt to climate change.

In the long term, we hope to build a modern, sustainable and environmentally friendly “Gia Lai agricultural ecosystem”. The message I want to send to the people is to maintain the spirit of solidarity, creativity and confident innovation to increase product value, build brands, develop green agriculture - modern and sustainable, so that Gia Lai farmers can truly become rich in their homeland.
