EU has 22 FDI projects registered for investment in Da Nang city

DNO - On the morning of October 16, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong chaired a meeting and worked with the Trade Counselor Delegation of the European Union (EU) and EU countries led by Mr. Ulrich Weigl, Minister Counselor, Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.

At the working session, the Trade Counsellors of the European Union and the European Union countries discussed and exchanged policies of Da Nang city.

In particular, focusing on economic , trade and investment issues, especially attracting foreign investment in key economic sectors of the city; human resource development policies to meet the needs of industries in the economic transition process and cooperation opportunities between EU investors and Da Nang city.

Policies to attract foreign experts, especially European experts in the city's socio-economic fields.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that Da Nang city has signed cooperation agreements with 13 localities in 9 member countries of the European Union.

Currently, the EU has 22 FDI projects registered for investment in Da Nang city (outside industrial parks) with a total investment capital of about 53.4 million USD, focusing on areas such as: processing and manufacturing industry; services, tourism , information technology.

Da Nang is investing and implementing many projects focusing on fields and contents such as semiconductor technology, electronic chips, AI, Internet of Things (IoT), serving industrial parks, smart urban development; gene technology, stem cell technology... These are fields in which countries in the European Union have a lot of experience.

Particularly for the International Financial Center, in 2025, StartupBlink selected Da Nang as one of 12 outstanding global ecosystems selected to present their achievements and future development orientation after a 130-rank increase.

In addition, Da Nang is also ranked as one of the smart cities in Asia, leading the level of readiness and development of information and communication technology in Vietnam for 14 consecutive years, and being honored as an excellent unit in building smart cities in Vietnam for 5 consecutive years.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee proposed a number of specific contents to strengthen cooperation with the European Union (EU).
