Increase teaching effectiveness
For many years, teaching Physics in high school has been done through a system of demonstration experiments. However, the current kits have revealed many limitations such as: low accuracy, only being able to perform a single unit of knowledge, and difficulty in encouraging students to explore on their own.
A survey conducted at 37 high schools in Hanoi and several other provinces and cities shows that most teachers still use pre-determined experimental methods in textbooks, mainly to illustrate lectures, not promoting the central role of learners.
Based on teaching practice, Mr. Nghiem Hong Trung - Principal of Quoc Oai High School (Quoc Oai Commune, Hanoi) and his colleagues have researched and manufactured a new set of experimental equipment, with the desire to completely solve the "bottleneck" that has lasted for more than 20 years in teaching high school Physics.
The authors set out to design a compact, accurate, and safe instrument that could simultaneously examine multiple physical phenomena related to balance and force. This was also a “difficult problem” that many previous generations of teachers and technicians had not yet thoroughly solved.
The research and manufacturing process of the kit goes through many scientific stages, from defining the goal, researching documents, planning to basic design, detailed design, simulation, manufacturing, assembly and testing. Not stopping at creating an illustrative experimental set, the research team also helps students directly explore, experience operations and thereby find out the laws of physics.

The uniqueness of the kit lies in its integration: In just one compact model, students can simultaneously conduct three important experiments - the rule of concurrent force, the rule of parallel force and the rule of moment of force - with an accuracy of up to 99%, much higher than previous devices. This design saves time, space, reduces costs, and increases teaching efficiency.
Not only that, technical factors of safety, size, sensors, and power sources are all carefully considered to ensure suitability for the general classroom environment. Simulation on software before production helps to limit errors and save manufacturing costs.
The highlight of the project lies not only in its scientific value but also in its high practical application. The experimental equipment after being manufactured has been tested in many classes at Quoc Oai High School and some schools in Hanoi.
The results showed that students could easily manipulate and observe more intuitively, thereby grasping the nature of physics instead of memorizing concepts. Teachers highly appreciated the compact, cost-effective toolkit, which can be flexibly applied to many different teaching topics such as the sum of concurrent forces, the moment rule or parallel forces.
The application of this solution has created a learning environment rich in discovery, contributing to innovation in teaching methods towards developing students' capacity, while opening up the possibility of replication in many other high schools.

Inspire creativity
With both solid scientific foundation and wide applicability, the topic "Experimental kit for Force Synthesis and Moment of Force used in teaching and exploring" by Mr. Trung excellently received the Second Prize at the 2nd Hanoi City Technical Innovation Contest held in October 2025.
Dr. Pham Van Nam - Center for Research and Development of Teaching Facilities and Children's Toys commented: The group of authors has approached the right spirit of educational innovation: shifting from 'teacher lectures - students listen' to 'teacher suggests - students explore'. With this device, students not only understand knowledge but also experience scientific research methods.
The jury also highly appreciated the fact that the project was granted a patent and utility solution by the Intellectual Property Office. This affirms the legal value and wide applicability of the product.
The outstanding advantage is economic efficiency. According to calculations, if widely deployed, this tool kit can save tens of billions of dong compared to importing or purchasing other individual tool kits.

In terms of education, the toolkit helps students develop the ability to self-study, self-research, and develop critical thinking - important qualities that the new general education program aims for.
This initiative is not only a technical product, but also an inspiration. It proves that, from the practical needs of the classroom, teachers can completely create a breakthrough product, both improving the quality of teaching and saving social costs.
In the context of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in general education, the topic "Experimental tool kit for force synthesis and force moment used in teaching and exploring" is a clear demonstration of creativity from teaching practice. Not only does it completely solve the limitations that have existed for more than 20 years, the topic also opens up a new approach, inspiring learning and scientific research for the young generation.
Representing the group of authors, Mr. Nghiem Hong Trung emphasized: “We hope that the product does not stop at a competition or a laboratory. The most important thing is that it reaches schools, so that every student has the opportunity to learn Physics in a more lively and attractive way.”
