The work of propagating and disseminating the law is maintained regularly through organizing training courses and disseminating legal regulations on tourism to raise awareness and compliance of organizations and individuals doing tourism business in the area. The Department also closely coordinates with the Provincial Police and relevant agencies in providing and sharing information to grasp the business situation, and at the same time issues many guiding documents, recommendations, and requests for accommodation establishments to have investment and upgrading plans to maintain service quality, strictly comply with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and related legal regulations.
Businesses are required to advertise the correct type and class of recognized tourist accommodation; not use the word "star" or star images without being recognized by a competent authority; list prices of goods and services and ensure quality commensurate with the granted star rating.
Inspection and supervision work is carried out regularly, both planned and unscheduled. The Department conducts field surveys and reviews promotional information on online platforms to promptly detect and prevent the situation of arbitrarily advertising accommodation establishments without recognition. In the first 10 months of 2025, the Department conducted 11 inspections (01 planned, 10 unscheduled) on 27 organizations and individuals operating in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, including 12 tourist accommodation establishments; the results showed that no violations were detected. Tourism statistics are implemented closely, regularly updating data through the accommodation information management software managed by Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, and at the same time using the Department's tourism statistics reporting software to ensure that monitoring and management are carried out consistently, promptly and accurately. Statistics and data synthesis are carried out in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 17/2021/TT-BVHTTDL dated December 28, 2021 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In addition to the achievements, the management of tourist accommodation activities in the area still has some difficulties and problems. Handling the situation of advertising "stars", "stars" or star images on international websites such as Agoda, Booking.com, Traveloka faces many limitations because the management units are located abroad, making it difficult to identify violators.
