I have officially become a Vietnamese citizen. I love the country and the Vietnamese people. I long to contribute to Vietnamese football. I will try harder to be worthy of everyone's trust and contribute my best to Hanoi Football Club as well as Vietnamese football."

The official granting of Vietnamese citizenship is an important milestone not only for Do Hoang Hen personally, but also the result of the active work of Hanoi Football Club over the past several months.

Since signing the contract in May, the capital team and Do Hoang Hen (formerly known as Hendrio) have both expressed their desire to become Vietnamese citizens, thereby helping the Brazilian midfielder to be able to contribute long-term to the country's football.

Realizing the suitability in both expertise and personality, Hanoi Football Club accompanied the player throughout the entire process of preparing documents and completing administrative procedures according to Vietnamese law.

Do Hoang Hen will officially be eligible to compete in the V-League 2025-2026 from the 7th round when Hanoi FC welcomes Ninh Binh at Hang Day Stadium at 7:15 p.m. on October 18, helping the capital team strengthen its squad depth.

From a broader perspective, this is a testament to the development vision of Hanoi Club in contributing to improving the quality of Vietnamese football, through selecting, supporting and accompanying foreign players with ability, personality and desire to contribute.

On the VFF side, VFF Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Minh Chau said: “We are very excited to have another member in the Vietnamese football family. Congratulations to Do Hoang Hen, on his new life and new mindset in Vietnam. Hopefully, Do Hoang Hen will continue to demonstrate professionalism and dedication, and soon make practical contributions to Vietnamese football in the colors of his club and the national team.”

Hoang Hen joined Hanoi FC at the beginning of this season. As a versatile player, Do Hoang Hen's presence will certainly help the Capital team strengthen and return to the V-League championship race.

For the Vietnamese team, the Brazilian player will have to wait until the return match against Malaysia in March next year, if he is called up by coach Kim Sang Sik. The reason is that he will not be able to live and work in Vietnam for 5 years until December this year according to naturalization regulations.
