According to VNA, on the morning of October 26, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the ASEAN Chair for 2025, presided over the welcoming ceremony for the heads of delegations attending the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed leaders from ASEAN countries and ASEAN partner countries and organizations, including: the Sultan of Brunei; the Presidents of Indonesia, the Philippines, Timor Leste, Brazil, and South Africa; the Prime Ministers of Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Canada; the President of the European Council; and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Taking place from October 26th to 28th, the 47th ASEAN Summit comprises nearly 20 high-level sessions and activities. It is expected that leaders will sign, approve, and acknowledge nearly 80 documents aimed at promoting ASEAN cooperation and cooperation between ASEAN and its partners in many priority areas, especially economics and trade.
In particular, ASEAN is expected to officially admit Timor Leste as its 11th member.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led the Vietnamese delegation to the conference, reaffirming Vietnam's active participation and responsible contributions to the overall success of the conferences; maintaining solidarity and consensus, strengthening connectivity within ASEAN; and working towards peace, stability, cooperation, and development in ASEAN and the world.
During his three-day stay in Kuala Lumpur, the Prime Minister is expected to attend and deliver speeches at sessions within the framework of the 47th ASEAN Summit; attend the ASEAN Award Ceremony and the Signing Ceremony of the Declaration on the Accession of Timor-Leste to ASEAN; and participate in ASEAN Summits with partners from the United States, China, India, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the United Nations.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will co-chair the 13th Mekong-Japan Summit; and attend the following conferences: the 3rd ASEAN Zero-Emission Community Leaders' Meeting, the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, the 28th ASEAN + 3 Summit, the 19th East Asia Summit (EAS), and the 5th RCEP Summit…
On this occasion, the Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations attending the Conference, as well as many other important activities.

Earlier, in the early morning of October 26, the special aircraft carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with the Vietnamese delegation and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, arrived in Kuala Lumpur, beginning their working visit.
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on the Malaysian side were the Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek; the Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato' Tan Yang Thai; the Director of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia; and representatives from the Prime Minister's Office and Liaison Officer for the Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim.
On the Vietnamese side were the Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia, Dinh Ngoc Linh; embassy staff and employees; and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.
