In accordance with the plan of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province to review poor and near-poor households in 2025 according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2022-2025, the People's Committee of Hong Ngu ward quickly established a Steering Committee for the review.

The Steering Committee has issued detailed working regulations, assigned specific tasks to each member, and is responsible for directing and closely supervising activities in each neighborhood.
To ensure accurate and scientific review, the People's Committee of the ward promptly issued a review plan for the area.
Specifically, after receiving training content from the provincial level, the People's Committee of the ward organized an in-depth training session for 100% of the reviewers in the residential areas.
The training focused on disseminating directives from higher authorities, providing detailed guidance on multidimensional poverty criteria, methods for filling out forms, review procedures, and procedures for publicly posting preliminary results at the neighborhood level.
This thorough preparation is a crucial prerequisite for ensuring that the review process is conducted in a coordinated and compliant manner.
To date, the ward has completed 100% of the household information collection, finalized the compilation, scoring, and determination of the preliminary list of poor households, near-poor households, households that have escaped poverty, and households that have escaped near-poverty in 2025.
Currently, the ward is publicly posting the preliminary results at the neighborhood headquarters and other public places to gather feedback from the people, ensuring fairness, transparency, and democracy.
The results of the review at the beginning of 2025 show that Hong Ngu ward has made many positive changes in poverty reduction efforts in the locality. Specifically, the number of poor households, which was initially 160, has now decreased to 100; the number of near-poor households has decreased from 324 to 264. This is clear evidence of the efforts and effectiveness of economic support and development policies in the area.
The Party Committee and People's Committee of the ward always pay attention to fully and promptly implementing policies for people with meritorious services and families entitled to preferential policies. At the same time, support policies for poor households, near-poor households, and social welfare beneficiaries are implemented synchronously, promptly, and effectively, ensuring that beneficiaries receive all support policies in accordance with regulations.
Along with implementing social security policies, vocational training, job placement, and encouraging workers to go abroad for fixed-term employment under contract are always given top priority.
Many solutions have been implemented, yielding positive results, not only helping to increase people's income but also contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Chairman of Hong Ngu Ward People's Committee, Nguyen Thanh Phong, emphasized that the investigation and review of poor and near-poor households in 2025 has received consistent and decisive leadership and guidance from the Ward Party Committee and People's Committee.
"We focused on directing and promptly issuing guiding documents, regularly monitoring and checking progress, ensuring that the review work was implemented synchronously, on time, and in compliance with regulations," Comrade Nguyen Thanh Phong shared.
The harmonious coordination between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations plays a crucial role as a bridge, actively organizing propaganda and mobilization activities to raise people's awareness of poverty reduction policies.
This consensus has helped the review process achieve positive results, accurately reflecting the reality of people's lives.
With the results achieved, the ward aims to eliminate poverty by the end of 2030. At the same time, the ward also aims to achieve an average per capita income of 120 million VND by the end of 2030.
These figures demonstrate the strong determination of the Party Committee and the government in improving the quality of life for the people.
The attentive and flexible approach to poverty reduction policies in Hong Ngu ward will be a crucial driving force in helping the locality achieve its sustainable poverty reduction goals, ensuring that "no one is left behind" on the development journey.
