(DONG THAP PROVINCE) During the 2022-2025 term, the Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union and its affiliated organizations effectively implemented various movements with practical projects and activities. This created an environment for education and training, fostering a generation of young people in Dong Thap with aspirations and noble ideals, and promoting the pioneering and volunteer spirit of youth in building their homeland.
THE MARK OF THE BLUE VOLUNTEER UNIFORM
During the past term, revolutionary action movements such as the youth volunteer movement, the youth creativity movement, and the youth vanguard movement for national defense were implemented effectively by all levels of the Youth Union.
Through various movements, the Youth Union organizes many peak activities such as: Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Youth Month, Border March, Green Sunday, Peak Activity Day for Building Civilized Cities... associated with mobilizing resources to carry out a series of projects and tasks for the community such as: Planting trees, collecting waste; building and repairing rural roads; building charitable houses; visiting and giving gifts to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, the poor, and those with difficult circumstances...
Along with that, a community-based digital transformation team was established to support clean agriculture, the circular economy , and the development of a "livable village" model linked to modern rural areas. The pilot project was implemented in Hamlet 1, Tan Kieu Commune (formerly), now Go Thap Hamlet, Doc Binh Kieu Commune, and expanded to 11 more hamlets in Dong Thap Province (formerly).
Hamlet 1, formerly Tan Kieu commune, now Go Thap hamlet, Doc Binh Kieu commune, has seen many positive changes through the implementation of the "Livable Village" model.
Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Secretary of the Doc Binh Kieu Commune Youth Union, said: “With resources from the Central Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union, the hamlet has implemented projects such as: a community playground “Supporting Sports”; a rural road lighting project; a digital agricultural stall on the Metaverse platform; and surveillance cameras to build a model of a “Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe Road”...
The commune's Youth Union regularly organizes volunteer teams to clear bushes, plant trees, and collect garbage, contributing to the significant improvements in the appearance of Go Thap hamlet."
Mr. Nguyen Van Le (Go Thap hamlet, Doc Binh Kieu commune) said: “Since the implementation of the “Livable Village” model, at night, all roads have been illuminated, making it easier for people to travel and transport goods; security and order in the hamlet are ensured... As a local resident, I am very pleased with this change.”
Furthermore, the field of social welfare attracts a large number of union members and young people to participate. A typical example is Mr. Ngo Van Qui, Chairman of the Sa Dec Ward Youth Volunteer Club, who enthusiastically participates in charitable activities in the locality.
Every month, Mr. Qui organizes breakfast cooking sessions and distributes meals to people in difficult circumstances. At the same time, he regularly mobilizes support and donations of gifts for poor households and those suffering from illness.
From 2022 to the present, he and the members of the Club have organized the cooking and distribution of over 40,000 breakfast meals; and mobilized support for more than 10,000 gifts for people in difficult circumstances inside and outside the province.
Mr. Ngo Van Qui shared: "Volunteer activities help me grow more mature every day. I hope that my small charitable activities will share some of the hardships with the poor and contribute to ensuring social welfare in the locality."
A highlight of the 2022-2025 term was the participation of over 2.5 million youth union members and young people throughout the province in volunteer activities; the provincial Youth Union branches implemented 6,966 projects worth nearly 178.8 billion VND, contributing to the renovation of hundreds of kilometers of roads, lighting up rural streets, building civilized streets, and supporting hundreds of thousands of people in accessing public services and digital transformation. These figures show that the youth of Dong Thap are not only enthusiastic, but also very responsible, capable, and ready to be present wherever the people need them, thereby affirming the image of a generation of young people who are "compassionate - dynamic - creative" in the land of the lotus flower. |
Comrade Le Hoang Quyet, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, said: “During the past term, the spirit of volunteerism among the province's youth truly exploded and left many clear marks. The projects and tasks have created very tangible values for the locality, from contributing to new rural infrastructure, urban beautification, expanding green spaces, to supporting people in accessing digital transformation…”
These activities not only bring material benefits but also have a profound impact on society, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the grassroots political system, building the image of Đồng Tháp's youth union members as compassionate and responsible, and spreading a culture of living beautifully and for the community."
INNOVATION IN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Since July 1st, 2025, when the two-tiered local government system officially came into operation, the green volunteer uniforms of Dong Thap's youth have been present in communes and wards, assisting people in resolving administrative procedures and accessing digital technology and digital government.
Youth Union member Vo Huu Thong (Muong Mieu hamlet, Thuong Phuoc commune) said: “I participate in guiding people to get numbers and register for online public services at the Commune Public Administrative Service Center. Through this activity, I hope to contribute my youthful energy to help people access and quickly understand the new points in resolving administrative procedures and share some of the workload with the staff at the Center.”
Pham Dinh Phuc, Secretary of the Thuong Phuoc Commune Youth Union, said: “The Commune Youth Union has established two volunteer youth teams to help people resolve administrative procedures. One team is stationed at the Commune Public Administrative Service Center to assist in welcoming and guiding people to take numbers, and filling out forms for the elderly; the other team goes around to people's homes to guide them in accessing digital technology and gradually registering and processing applications online from home.”
According to the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, the commune and ward youth unions in the province have established 102 core support teams at the commune and ward public administrative service centers; and 2 support teams at the provincial public administrative service center, attracting 43,000 youth union members and young people to participate.
Members of the participating teams assisted citizens in receiving people, helping the elderly fill out paper documents and administrative forms correctly, and using the VNeID application to access digital administrative services… As a result, they assisted 245,955 citizens, helping them resolve administrative procedures conveniently and satisfactorily.
Mr. Bui Van Ly (Muong Mieu hamlet, Thuong Phuoc commune) said: “I came to the Center to file for social retirement benefits. Thanks to the thorough guidance of the young union members, my application process was smooth and quick. I am very satisfied with the service attitude of the professional staff at the Center.”
Furthermore, in response to the "Digital Literacy Movement," the commune and ward youth unions have established 102 "Digital Literacy" volunteer youth teams. These teams have disseminated digital skills and AI application skills to over 250,000 people.
In addition, many digital transformation application models have been implemented. Typical examples include: "Pink Holiday - Dedicated to the Elderly," "The Red Phoenix Flower Journey - Small Footsteps in Every Alley and House" providing home-based support to elderly people living alone and in difficult circumstances in completing social security applications; and models such as "Market 4.0," "Digital Transformation Route," and "Young Digital Citizens," all of which effectively serve the people.
The outstanding achievements of the province's youth during the 2022-2025 period demonstrate their persistent efforts, pioneering spirit, dedication to the community, and burning desire to contribute. These proud results bring many practical values, contributing together with the local Party committee and government to building a more civilized, prosperous, and beautiful Dong Thap.
