Pepper price today October 24, 2025: Domestic pepper plummets

Domestic pepper prices on October 24, 2025 decreased sharply, fluctuating at 142,000-143,000 VND/kg, while export prices were stable at 6,400-6,600 USD/ton.

Pepper prices in the Vietnamese market fell sharply on October 24, 2025, fluctuating between VND142,000 and VND143,000 per kg, in the context of black pepper export prices increasing by nearly 36% compared to the beginning of the year, reaching USD6,400-6,600 per ton. This fluctuation reflects the adjustment of the domestic market, but the long-term outlook remains positive thanks to the narrowing global supply.

Fluctuations in domestic pepper prices

The domestic pepper market witnessed a decline across localities on October 24, 2025. The current average price is around VND 142,900 per kg, with a range of VND 142,000 to VND 143,000 per kg.

Specifically, in Gia Lai province, the listed price is at 142,000 VND per kg, down 2,000 VND per kg compared to before, becoming the lowest price along with Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded a transaction price of VND142,000 per kg, down VND3,500 per kg.

Dong Nai province listed 142,500 VND per kg, also down 3,500 VND per kg.

Dak Lak and Lam Dong reached the highest price at 143,000 VND per kg, both localities decreased by 3,000 VND per kg.

This downward correction occurred across all regions, marking a consolidation phase after the previous strong uptrend.

International pepper price situation

In the global market, pepper prices remained mostly stable with slight fluctuations at some exchanges. The Indonesian exchange reported a decrease of 0.01 USD per ton for black pepper to 7,229 USD per ton, equivalent to about 190,499 VND per kg.

Indonesian white pepper decreased by 0.03 USD per ton to 10,085 USD per ton, equivalent to about 265,760 VND per kg.

The Brazilian and Malaysian markets did not see significant changes. Brazilian black pepper Pepper ASTA 570 remained at USD 6,100 per ton, about VND 160,748 per kg.

Malaysian ASTA black pepper is at USD 9,500 per ton, about VND 250,344 per kg.

Malaysian ASTA white pepper is at USD 12,500 per ton, about VND 329,400 per kg.

In Vietnam's export market, pepper prices are stable. Black pepper 500g/l is at 6,400 USD per ton, about 168,653 VND per kg.

Black pepper 550g/l at 6,600 USD per ton, about 173,924 VND per kg.

Vietnam ASTA white pepper remained at 9,050 USD per ton, equivalent to about 238,486 VND per kg.

Short-Term and Long-Term Pepper Price Outlook

In the short term, the market is consolidating after a period of strong growth, with a shortage of large orders and cautious sentiment from buyers, making it difficult for prices to increase dramatically. The current stable high price level of VND142,000 to VND143,000 per kg for domestic and USD6,400 to USD6,600 per ton for export is a positive signal for growers and businesses, especially compared to the downward pressure on prices of many other agricultural products.

In the long term, the outlook for pepper prices remains positive thanks to the decline in global supply. Pepper cultivation areas in Vietnam, India and Indonesia have shrunk in recent years, while demand from major markets such as the US, Germany and Saudi Arabia has remained stable. If the weather is favorable and export conditions improve, prices may increase slightly by the end of 2025, especially during the peak consumption season at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year. Enterprises need to focus on quality standards to meet the strict requirements of the international market.

The pepper market remains stable at high prices, reflecting the balance between supply and demand. Although there are no signs of a short-term breakthrough, the long-term outlook is positive thanks to limited supply and stable demand. Growers and businesses should closely monitor technical factors and consumption trends to optimize profits in a volatile environment.
