The book tells the story of the trumpeter swan, which is usually found only in pristine wetlands with little human disturbance. Its call sounds like a trumpet, so scientists named it the trumpeter swan. Ironically, Louis the trumpeter swan cannot twitter, twitter, chirp, chirp, or make any other sounds. Fortunately, he has a sensitive and understanding mother and a father who is willing to sacrifice his life to find his voice. Fortunately, Louis is a smart, strong-willed, and dignified swan. He was awarded a Lifesaving Medal for his bravery in saving a drowning boy.

Through the personification style and the plot with many suspenseful details in each turning point of Louis's life, the reader is both excited and smiles through each page. The swan who cannot talk to his fellow swans is determined to go to school to learn to write with his first grade friends. After finishing school, Louis happily returns to his family to communicate but is disappointed when he realizes that his relatives cannot read. When given the opportunity, he tries hard to learn to use the trumpet. Through the inspiring music emitted from the trumpet, Louis the swan communicates with the whole world.

Throughout the story, there is also the friendship between humans and animals. Sam Beaver is a boy who often goes camping with his father in the wilderness. Here, he is lucky to encounter a pair of trumpeter swans nesting during the breeding season. He gets to know Louis the young swan. From here, his friendship with Louis is maintained, shared, and cherished. He is the place where Louis seeks help when in need.

"The Trumpet of the Swan" is a vast and peaceful book, bringing readers closer to wild nature. There are small lakes in vast swamps, where waterfowl nest and breed; a wildlife reserve, where animals live freely without fear of being hunted; and people who always know how to protect animals, especially rare species...

In addition to the two main characters above, there are other characters such as: mother swan, father swan, teacher Hammerbotham (who teaches Louis writing), Mr. Brickle - Director of Kookooskoos summer camp (who gives Louis his first job to earn money), swan Serena (Louis's partner)... who share Louis's speech defect, help him when he needs it and recognize Louis's efforts to improve.
