On the evening of October 24, photographer Tran The Phong held the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition 25 years of a journey at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, to celebrate his 25th anniversary of pursuing the art of photography.
Memorable moments
The exhibition features more than 100 of the thousands of photos he took during his career.
Photographer Tran The Phong said the criteria he used to choose photos for this exhibition were photos that were close to everyone, expressing optimism, love of life, and the feeling that life is always lovely and worth living.
A typical example is the photo series Overcoming the Darkness , although the blind children live in the dark all their lives, they are always happy.
The photo series Laughter captures the smiles of children and adults in many different regions and circumstances. They are always optimistic and love life.
Regarding the photo series that left many memories, he mentioned the photo series Father's Love , which took pictures of a father and son living in the old District 7. It took him more than a year to complete this photo series.
After Tuoi Tre newspaper published the story, this father and son received help from many people and their life gradually improved.

Photographer Tran The Phong told Tuoi Tre Online that to carry out this exhibition, he went to the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association more than ten times to survey, come up with ideas for photo arrangements, and recount his journey into photography and his commitment to it to this day.
Tran The Phong's attachment to photography is both fate and career.
Tran The Phong shared that coming to photography is both a destiny and a career, so he has been involved for 25 years. He has organized 22 solo exhibitions and published 14 books.
In the photo exhibition space, there are many remarkable items on display, including a Zenit camera and hundreds of working cards.

“The Zenit camera was my first friend, attached to me 35 years ago, during a difficult time. It was this camera that accompanied me to earn a living and helped me gain a lot of experience in the profession.
As for the work cards, every time I go to work, I keep them and cherish them, hoping to convey the message to young people that everything starts from small things. If you pay attention to keeping them, it will be like the work, the art project you pursue" - Tran The Phong confided.
The 25-year photo exhibition runs until October 29.
