On the afternoon of December 10th, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held a conference to summarize the work of the Party's internal affairs sector in 2025 and to outline directions and tasks for 2026.
Resolving cases and incidents of corruption, waste, and misconduct decisively.
In his directive speech, Standing Committee member of the Party Central Committee Tran Cam Tu emphasized that in 2025, the entire Party's internal affairs sector closely followed the directives of the Central Committee, the Politburo , the Party Central Committee, and the General Secretary To Lam, achieving many very important results.
In this context, the Party's internal affairs sector has also performed well in its role as the standing agency of the Central Steering Committee and the provincial-level Steering Committees on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; truly serving as the "center" and "focal point" in coordination and consultation.
A summary of the five-year implementation shows that the entire Party's internal affairs sector has detected and advised on the handling of over 1,000 cases and incidents of corruption, waste, and negative practices.
Specifically, the Central Internal Affairs Commission advised the Central Steering Committee to monitor and direct 149 cases and 84 serious and complex cases of corruption, waste, and negative practices that attracted public attention.
In 2026, the country will have many important events, with the central task being the organization of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
He suggested that the Party's internal affairs sector focus on studying, understanding, and effectively implementing the policies, tasks, and solutions regarding internal affairs, combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena, and judicial reform as outlined in the Party's 14th Congress documents.
In addition, the sector must focus on advising and directing the inspection, investigation, and decisive handling of corruption, waste, and negative cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee and provincial-level Steering Committees.

We shouldn't allow waste to continue, but we also shouldn't legitimize wrongdoing.
Mr. Tran Cam Tu noted that the sector needs to conduct a comprehensive review, fully identify violations and their causes, in order to direct corrective actions, remedies, and prevention.
Preventing the recurrence of violations, preventing the recurrence of old violations, and ensuring that subsequent violations are larger and more serious than previous ones, while focusing on recovering the maximum amount of assets for the State.
The sector needs to advise on and direct the strengthening of inspection, supervision, and control of power, preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices, and building a truly honest, people-oriented, and people-serving local government at both levels.
Promptly detect, advise on, and strictly and publicly handle cases of officials harassing and causing inconvenience to citizens and businesses, as well as the mentality of working half-heartedly, waiting, relying on others, shirking responsibility, and avoiding duty in the performance of official duties.
This is intended to raise awareness, deter, and effectively address the problem of petty corruption that causes frustration for citizens and businesses.
The sector also needs to advise and direct efforts to further strengthen and create stronger changes in the fight against waste throughout society.
Provide timely advice on directing the review of projects violating land laws, and projects facing difficulties and obstacles as identified in inspection reports, audits, and court judgments, in order to address them in accordance with the Politburo's policies and conclusions, thereby unlocking land resources.
This will contribute to promoting economic and social growth and development, preventing prolonged waste, but also will not legitimize wrongdoing.
To avoid creating "hot spots," being passive, or being caught off guard, Mr. Tran Cam Tu requested a review and guidance on resolving all large-scale, complex, and protracted complaints, especially during the period of the 14th Party Congress.
He called for continued strengthening and improvement of the organizational structure, building the Party's internal affairs sector into an agency that is "honest within honesty," meeting the requirements and tasks of the new era...
