On the afternoon of November 26 in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Committee held a conference to collect comments on the draft report summarizing the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity during the 13th Party Congress term.

Chairing the conference, Party Central Committee Secretary, Permanent Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri emphasized that the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity during the 13th Congress term continued to inherit and strongly promote the results of the previous term, achieving many outstanding, comprehensive and profound marks.

The work of detecting and handling corruption has been carried out vigorously in accordance with the spirit of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, no matter who the person is", "words go hand in hand with actions", creating clear changes from the central to local levels, contributing to strongly consolidating the trust of cadres, party members and people.

Many particularly serious corruption and negative cases have been focused on, investigated, prosecuted, and tried urgently and strictly; the scope of corruption prevention and control has been expanded to the field of waste prevention and control. The work of recovering corrupt assets has achieved positive results with particularly large sums of money, many measures of freezing, seizing, confiscating, and ensuring the recovery of assets right from the beginning of the litigation process. Along with that, the work of preventing and combating ideological, moral , and lifestyle degradation has been focused on and promoted, contributing to building a team of honest and courageous cadres.

Emphasizing the need to continue promoting the spirit of determination and synchronization from the central to local levels in the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, Mr. Le Minh Tri stated that it is necessary to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in institutions, policies and implementation; proactively unblocking and ensuring development resources. The promotion of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity must be closely linked to the goal of serving the country's socio -economic development, creating a transparent and healthy environment, promoting innovation, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of national governance, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development in the new period.

Also at the Conference, delegates presented papers focusing on completing the Report in a way that fully reflects the results, clearly identifies the limitations, causes and proposes strategic solutions for the coming period. Many opinions suggested strengthening institutional improvement; improving the effectiveness of coordination between inspection, investigation, prosecution and trial agencies; promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation; promoting the mechanism to protect officials who dare to think and dare to do; improving the effectiveness of recovering corrupt assets and perfecting policies in accordance with the two-level local government model.
