Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong affirmed that science and technology journalism is not only an information channel, but also a pioneering force in spreading knowledge, inspiring creativity and the aspiration for national development through knowledge and technology.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Award is not only an occasion to honor outstanding journalistic works, but also an opportunity to look back on the past journey, affirming the important role of journalism in the development of the country, especially in the context where science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are becoming strategic pillars of national development.
This year's awards take place against the backdrop of the Politburo 's issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as one of the strategic pillars for Vietnam to become a developed nation. To ensure the widespread dissemination of innovative and groundbreaking ideas in the Resolution, the press, especially the press covering science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, is the pioneering force and a solid bridge between policy and practice.
The Deputy Minister pointed out that, in the coming period, it is necessary to form a stronger, more modern, and more creative community of science and technology journalists. Journalism needs to be at the forefront of embracing new technologies, applying artificial intelligence, big data, data journalism, and multi-platform journalism to reach the public faster, more broadly, and more attractively.
The Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to accompany, support, and create favorable conditions for press agencies, from research and application of technology, digital transformation to providing official scientific data sources and strengthening coordination with the media to help science and technology journalism become a core force in communicating about science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
