The Sa Pa National Tourist Area (Lao Cai province) has just inaugurated the Winter Festival and the Stone Lotus Festival 2025, taking place from October 25th to February 14th. This is a series of events marking the beginning of the year-end tourist season, featuring many unique cultural and artistic activities that attract a large number of domestic and international tourists.

According to Lao Dong newspaper, Sa Pa is currently experiencing an early cold spell with temperatures ranging from 10 to 17 degrees Celsius, and thick fog covering the mountain slopes and trees, creating a magical, picturesque scene.

“This was the first time I experienced the characteristic chill of Sa Pa when fog enveloped the entire mountain town; it was cold but very interesting. Sipping hot coffee in the morning while looking down at the misty valley was a memorable experience,” shared Ngo Duy Dung, a tourist from Hanoi .

Not only domestic tourists, but also many international visitors are attracted by the cool weather and the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the highlands. Some attractions such as Fansipan Legend, Cat Cat Village, Ta Van Village, and the Sa Pa Stone Church are always crowded with visitors.

According to the head of the Culture and Information Department of Sa Pa ward, during this year's festival, the tourism industry has coordinated with businesses to organize many promotional programs, focusing on promoting winter tourism - a unique advantage of Sa Pa.

During the opening week of the festival, Sa Pa is expected to welcome tens of thousands of visitors, a significant increase compared to the same period last year. Many tourists have said they will return during Christmas or New Year's to have a chance to see the ice and snow if the cold weather continues.
