Cold wind at the beginning of the season in Sa Pa

Sa Pa National Tourist Area (Lao Cai province) has just opened the Winter Festival and the Stone Lotus Festival 2025, taking place from October 25 to February 14. This is a series of events opening the year-end tourist season, with many unique cultural and artistic activities, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

According to Lao Dong, these days, Sa Pa is experiencing an early cold spell with temperatures ranging from 10 - 17 degrees Celsius, thick fog covering the mountainsides and trees, creating a magical scene like in a painting.

“This is the first time I have felt the typical cold of Sa Pa when the fog covers the whole mountain town. It is both cold and very interesting. Sipping hot coffee in the morning while looking down at the foggy valley is a memorable experience,” said Ngo Duy Dung, a tourist from Hanoi .

Not only domestic tourists, many international tourists are also attracted by the cool weather and the colorful cultural space of the highlands. Some attractions such as Fansipan Legend, Cat Cat village, Ta Van village, Sa Pa stone church are always crowded.

The leader of the Sa Pa Ward Department of Culture and Information said that during this year's festival, the tourism industry has coordinated with businesses to organize many stimulus programs, focusing on promoting winter tourism - a unique advantage of Sa Pa.

It is expected that Sa Pa will welcome tens of thousands of visitors during the opening week of the festival, an increase compared to the same period last year. Many visitors said they would return during Christmas or New Year to have a chance to see the snow and ice if the weather continues to be very cold.

Within the framework of the Sa Pa Winter Festival 2025, there will be art shows such as "Thien" and "Dance under the Moon" (from November 7, 2025 to November 15, 2025), "Sa Pa Forever" Mountain Bike Race (December 13-14, 2025), Setting Sa Pa Culinary Record and Snow Festival (from December 20, 2025), along with the Art Program - Countdown to welcome the new year 2026 and Welcoming the first tourist group in 2026, promising to bring many experiences to visitors when coming to Sa Pa.
