Director of the National Children's Hospital is a candidate for professorship in 2025

(Dan Tri) - Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien, Director of the National Children's Hospital, President of the Vietnam Pediatrics Association, Head of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hanoi National University), is a candidate for professorship in Medicine in 2025.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien (57 years old), is one of 14 candidates for professorship in Medicine, specializing in Medicine in 2025.

During his research career, he has chaired and completed 20 scientific research topics from the grassroots level and above; published 186 scientific articles at home and abroad, including 70 articles published in prestigious international journals.

In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Minh Dien is also the author of 13 specialized books published by prestigious publishers.

In 2025, he was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President . Previously, in 2021, he was awarded the title of People's Physician (TTND) in 2021; and was honored in the "Glory of Vietnam" program in 2024.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien graduated as a primary specialist (Pediatrics) from Hanoi Medical University in 1991, continued to receive a Master's degree in Medicine in 1995 and a Doctorate in Medicine in 2010, specializing in Pediatrics.

He was recognized as associate professor in 2014 and officially appointed at Hanoi Medical University in 2015.

Immediately after graduation, he was assigned to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. His areas of expertise include: Examination, diagnosis and treatment of diseases in infants and young children, especially emergency resuscitation.

From 2011 to 2021, he was Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital. From 2021 to present, he is Director of the National Children's Hospital.

It is known that among the 836 candidates for professor and associate professor positions approved in 2025, many hold management and executive positions in central and local hospitals.

In the medical sector alone, there are at least 15 candidates who are directors and deputy directors of major hospitals such as: Friendship Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, K Hospital, Nghe An Eye Hospital...
